Forgive Me Father 2 – out now!

A sequel so well-executed that it made us re-evaluate the original has just unleashed its eldritch horrors on console. It’s time to Forgive Me Father 2.

Forgive Me Father 2, the critically acclaimed Lovecraftian shooter from developer Byte Barrel, has launched today. This stunning new title from publisher Fulqrum Publishing is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for ÂŁ24.99.

This is a game we’ve already had the pleasure of going insane with, and we’ve come away incredibly impressed. Prepare to continue the story of the Priest, balance on the edge of sanity, and feast your eyes on a world of guns, gore, and plenty of tentacles.

A Journey Back into Madness

Forgive Me Father 2 sees you embark on a new path to salvation as you continue the story of the Priest character from the first installment. You will journey once again into a malevolent world inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s myths, where madness awaits around every single corner.

The unique, dark, hand-drawn graphic design, where every frame looks like a page from a comic book, returns in the sequel with a fresh perspective. The game features improved sprites, models, and atmospheric lighting effects, with juicy blood effects and animated gibs flying everywhere.

Gear Up and Fight

This is a game for fans of classic first-person shooters. You can define your own playstyle and assemble the deadliest arsenal from a host of weapons, including devastating shotguns, lethally accurate rifles, and explosive launchers.

You’ll even find grotesque, organic rifles sprouting writhing tentacles and wings. You’ll need every last one of them to fight the hosts of diverse and formidable enemies, who will evolve into ever more evil and twisted forms as you progress.

Your overwhelming madness is your best friend and your worst enemy. By letting the insanity flow through you, you can unleash absolute mayhem on your foes and gain extraordinary new powers as a reward.

The Evolution of a Classic

We’ve been on this journey with the Priest since the beginning. In our 3.5/5 review of the first Forgive Me Father, we found it to be an exhilarating retro shooter that fans of the genre would adore, but felt it was a “bit one-note” in the later levels.

This sequel, however, is a massive leap forward. In our glowing 4.5/5 review of Forgive Me Father 2, we stated:

This sequel is so well-executed that it has made me re-evaluate my review of the first game; this iteration simply feels smoother to play and is altogether more exciting… Forgive Me Father 2 is an old-school shooter, but it brings enough new ideas to the table in terms of its wildly imaginative weapons and intriguing story.

Your Arsenal of Insanity

Here’s what you can expect from this new Lovecraftian shooter:

  • A Critically Acclaimed Sequel: A 4.5/5 reviewed retro FPS that improves on the original in every way.
  • Distinctive Dark Comic-Like Visuals: A unique, hand-drawn graphic design where every frame looks like a comic book page.
  • A Twisted Arsenal: Wield everything from classic shotguns to grotesque, organic tentacle rifles.
  • Gain Mad Skills: Use your own overwhelming madness to fuel bizarre and powerful new abilities.
  • An Otherworldly Soundtrack: Slay hordes of cultists to the sound of strong electric guitar riffs and energetic drums.

A new journey into a malevolent world has begun. If you’re a fan of old-school shooters with a unique art style and wildly imaginative weapons, Forgive Me Father 2 is ready for you on the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox Series X|S. It’s also available on PlayStation 5.

Will your sins be forgiven, or will your soul be consumed by madness?
