REDEX
REDEX – out on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

REDEX – It’s a simple, brutal premise: there are no rules, you just have to fight to be the last one standing.

A pixel-art survival shooter that throws you onto a relentless battlefield has just been deployed on consoles in the form of REDEX, from Nipobox and Eastasiasoft.

This fast-paced side-scrolling combat experience is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, all for an incredibly low price.

This is a game where your survival depends on your ability to adapt, upgrade, and unleash a constant storm of bullets in every direction.

A Symphony of Survival

What sets REDEX apart is its fluid and dynamic combat system. You have the freedom to fire in any direction, completely independent of where your soldier is currently moving or facing.

This allows you to run from danger while still laying down suppressive fire, creating a thrilling and fast-paced arcade experience as you navigate the combat zones in classic side-scrolling platformer style.

As you defeat wave after wave of enemies, you will collect coins that can be spent at vending machines for crucial supplies like ammo, grenades, and armour. You can also find rare gold, which can be traded for permanent upgrades and new playable characters.

You’ll unlock new zones, from rooftops to labs, and can even call in air-dropped crates to deploy turrets or mining terminals to give you a strategic edge.

Check out the retro action in the official launch trailer…

Another Unique Title from Eastasiasoft

Publisher Eastasiasoft continues its mission to bring a massive variety of unique and affordable indie titles to console players.

The retro survival shooting of REDEX joins a huge and diverse library that has recently included the chaotic table tennis brawler King of Ping Pong: MEGAMIX and the casino puzzler Hot Stakes Casino – American Roulette.

Your Mission Intel

Here’s what you can expect from this new retro arcade shooter:

  • A Fast-Paced Survival Shooter: Battle endless waves of enemies in a pixel-art world.
  • 360-Degree Firepower: Shoot in any direction, independent of your soldier’s movement.
  • A Deep Upgrade Path: Use coins for temporary supplies and gold for permanent upgrades and new characters.
  • Dynamic Battlefield Tools: Deploy turrets, mining terminals, and dummies to adapt your tactics.

The rules are out the window and survival is the only objective. If you’re a fan of classic, fast-paced arcade shooters and are looking for a new, super-affordable title to test your skills, REDEX is ready for you on the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on the PlayStation Store, as well as the Nintendo eShop.

The question is, how long can you last?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
