Aetherfall – out now on Xbox

A floating platform is never quite as reassuring as solid ground, especially when the next one is moving. Aetherfall throws players into a 3D platforming adventure built around jumping, exploration and a steady stream of new obstacles, with coins to collect, environmental puzzles to solve and a boss waiting at the end of each chapter.

It is available for £4.19, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Keep Moving, Keep Learning

Aetherfall isn’t simply about getting from one side of a level to the other. As you progress deeper into its world, new mechanics and environmental elements are introduced, giving you different problems to work around.

Buttons, crates and moving obstacles all have a part to play, while floating platforms provide the more traditional platforming challenge. There are also secrets and coins tucked away for anyone willing to spend a little more time exploring rather than rushing towards the exit.

The game is split into chapters, with each bringing its own collection of locations, mechanics and challenges. And then comes the boss.

You see, each chapter finishes with its own boss fight, giving Aetherfall a chance to test the platforming and mechanics you’ve encountered along the way.

Platform To Platform

With environmental puzzles, moving hazards, collectibles and a range of different locations thrown into the mix, there looks to be more to this cheap little adventure than simply jumping from platform to platform.

For £4.19 from the Xbox Store, Aetherfall keeps things focused on the fundamentals of 3D platforming while adding enough mechanical variety to keep each chapter moving in a different direction. If floating platforms and increasingly tricky challenges sound like your kind of afternoon, Revulo Games has another little world waiting to be explored.
