Being a gamer isn’t just about playing the latest and greatest games. It’s also about picking up the latest accessories with which to play those games. The most iconic of those add-ons is the humble controller and today Microsoft have announced a new line – the Tech Series.
Kicking off this series will be the Recon Tech Special Edition controller for Xbox One. Fully wireless and coming with all the usual features we have quickly become accustomed to, this Special Edition has been inspired by military tech and performance patterns.
Priced at $69.99 USD and shipping worldwide from April 25th 2017, it explores concepts which have stemmed from combat armor and sci-fi mechanical gear, coming complete with a laser etched front texture, gold accents and insignia. The rear comes with the diamond rubberized grip to allow for extra control and comfort, whilst the insides allows it to Bluetooth its way to Win10 devices and make the most of the custom button mapping feature from the Xbox Accessories App.
If you need a new controller, either for yourself or to take advantage of the upcoming Copilot feature allowing two devices to work as one, then this is a seemingly great choice.
What do you think? Will you be buying this? Let us know in the comments below.
Hmm. That does look quite cool. I’ve had to retire my Day One controller due to the ‘drifting left stick’ issue (that MS have conveniently closed as fixed in the forum!!). Currently using the spare that I’d bought for the Wife. Maybe this can join the many games on my wish list.
It’s beautiful
I’ve got an Elite controller and I’m still tempted by this one just based on the styling! Will see what happens when they launch 🙂
Nah, I can’t see any benefit for this over the Elite, mate.I’m not sure I even like the design, the gold seems a bit too “bling” for me…
I still think it looks great. I know it won’t be as good as the Elite (nothing could) but I need an extra controller and don’t want to be splashing out on a second elite so this looks ideal.
This looks the dog’s b’s! Very tempted to get me one of these. Ive been more restrained after the 360 and at one point owning 6 working controllers so I am due a new one surely
