Red Dead Online Bounty Hunter Bonuses
Red Dead Online Bounty Hunter Bonuses

If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to dust off your revolver and head back to the frontier, Red Dead Online has one ready. Rockstar’s latest monthly update shifts the spotlight onto Bounty Hunters, handing out huge reward boosts, free cosmetics and discounts across one of the game’s most popular specialist roles.

Available now across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, the event runs through to August 3rd, giving players plenty of time to hunt down outlaws while earning some of the biggest payouts currently available.

At A Glance

  • Game: Red Dead Online
  • Platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
  • Event: Bounty Hunter Month
  • Ends: August 3rd
  • Headline Bonus: Triple rewards on Bounties and Bounty Hunter activities

Triple Rewards Across The Frontier

This month’s biggest attraction is the generous boost to Bounty Hunter rewards. Regular Bounties are paying out 3x RDO$, XP and Role XP, while those willing to tackle the tougher Legendary and Infamous Bounties can earn 3x RDO$, XP and Gold.

Bounty Hunter Free Roam Events, including Day of Reckoning and Manhunt, have also received the triple-reward treatment. Simply taking part in one of these events will earn players the stylish Rushword Shirt, while completing any Bounty unlocks the Asking for Trouble Emote. Finish a Legendary Bounty and you’ll also receive the War Cry Emote.

Dedicated bounty hunters have another reward waiting too, with the Morning Tail Coat handed out to anyone who completes every Bounty Hunter Daily Challenge during the event.

Posse Up And Claim Weekly Rewards

Rockstar is also encouraging players to ride together throughout July. Persistent Posse setup fees have been completely waived, while every activity completed as part of a Posse grants a 100% XP boost, making it the perfect time to gather a crew.

Weekly bonuses are also rotating throughout the event:

  • June 30th – July 6th: Complete two Bounties to receive three Hawkmoth Bolas and 100 rounds of Express Repeater Ammo.
  • July 7th – July 13th: Complete an activity with a Persistent Posse to receive the Eberhart Coat.
  • July 14th – July 20th: Purchase a Weapon Modification to earn the West Hill Haven Treasure Map.
  • July 21st – July 27th: Rank up five times or reach Rank 20 as a Bounty Hunter to receive the Raccoon Hat.
  • July 28th – August 3rd: Complete two Bounties to receive a free Weapon reward.

Free Clothing And Huge Discounts

To celebrate American Independence Day, everyone who logs into Red Dead Online this month will receive the Rebellion Poncho, while Bounty Hunters will also unlock the Spirit of 1776 Bandana.

Returning limited-time clothing includes the Concho Pants, Patterned Bandana, Porter Jacket, Macbay Jacket and Torranca Coat.

Players can also pick up a free community-inspired outfit based on a design created by Historical-Stock-303 from the r/reddeadfashion community, featuring a collection of classic frontier clothing pieces.

Meanwhile, anyone looking to expand their Bounty Hunter career can take advantage of substantial discounts, including:

  • Five Gold Bars off both Bounty Hunter Licenses.
  • A free Bounty Hunter Wagon.
  • 50% off Wagon Tints.
  • 50% off Bounty Hunter Outfits, Bolas, Throwing Knives, Repeaters and Repeater Customisations.
  • 50% off Breton Horses, Bandoliers and Coats.
  • 30% off selected ammunition pamphlets.

Another Strong Month For Red Dead Online

Following last month’s update, which spread generous bonuses across every specialist role, Rockstar has narrowed its focus this time around by giving Bounty Hunters centre stage.

Whether you’re returning after a break or already riding the frontier every week, the combination of triple rewards, free cosmetics, rotating weekly prizes and hefty discounts makes this one of the best opportunities in recent months to jump back into Red Dead Online.

The latest Bounty Hunter event is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, running until August 3rd. You can find more info over on the Rockstar Newswire.
