Red Dead Online Featured Series – August Update

After last month’s focus on bounty hunting, Red Dead Online is sending players in search of buried riches instead. August’s update shifts the spotlight to the Collector Role, with generous bonuses for tracking down rare valuables, completing full collections and exploring the frontier in search of hidden rewards across Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

Whether you’re hunting fossils with a shovel, chasing down the elusive Condor Egg or answering mysterious Telegram dispatches, there’s plenty of extra cash, XP and Gold to be earned throughout the month.

At A Glance

  • Game: Red Dead Online
  • Platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC
  • Event: August Monthly Bonuses
  • Runs Until: August 31st
  • Highlights: 3X rewards on Collector Set Sales and Telegram Missions, free Frontiersman outfit pieces, waived Fast Travel fees

Collectors Take Centre Stage

Following July’s Bounty Hunter bonuses, Rockstar is encouraging players to swap wanted posters for treasure maps this month.

Complete Collector Set Sales for Triple RDO$, Role XP and XP, making it one of the most profitable times yet to hand complete collections over to Madam Nazar.

There’s more incentive to head off the beaten path too, with Triple Role XP awarded simply for discovering Collectibles across the map. If you’ve been putting off investing in the Metal Detector or Pennington Field Shovel, both are currently available at 50% off.

Trade Route and Condor Egg Free Roam Events are also paying 3X RDO$ and XP, giving Collectors even more opportunities to cash in.

Telegram Missions Deliver Triple Rewards

Players looking for a little more action won’t be left out either. Several Telegram Missions, including A Tough Business, Skelding’s Contract, Rough Justice, Hired Loyalty and Strange Tales of the West, now offer Triple RDO$, XP and Gold throughout the month.

Meanwhile, A New Source of Employment missions reward Triple RDO$ and XP, making August one of the best times to work through Rockstar’s collection of solo-friendly frontier missions.

Unlock The Frontiersman Outfit Throughout August

Rockstar is also handing out a steady stream of cosmetic rewards simply for logging in and completing activities.

Every player who signs into Red Dead Online this month receives the Frontiersman Hat, while discovering two Collectibles unlocks the matching Frontiersman Gloves.

Additional outfit pieces are then distributed weekly:

  • August 4th – August 10th – Frontiersman Pants and Belt (Collectors Rank 10+), Vaquero Baroque Spurs for collecting a Fossil
  • August 11th – August 17th – Frontiersman Boots and Half Chaps (Collectors Rank 10+), North Clingman Treasure Map for completing Collector Daily Challenges
  • August 18th – August 24th – Frontiersman Shirt and Suspenders (Collectors Rank 20), Free Shirt reward for completing the Weekly Collection
  • August 25th – August 31st – Frontiersman Neckerchief (Collectors Rank 20), Burned Town Treasure Map for winning in the Featured Series

Completing two Daily Challenges at any point during the month also earns an Offer for 10 Gold Bars off any Role Gating item.

More Bonuses Across The Frontier

Away from the Collector role, there are plenty of other reasons to saddle up.

Featured Series playlists rotate each week with Triple RDO$ and XP, covering Hardcore Elimination, Takeover, Explosive Series and Hardcore Pro Series across August.

Players can also claim a new community-inspired outfit, assembled by Victorian_Cowgirl from the Red Dead fashion community, while several limited-time clothing items return to Tailors and the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue.

To make travelling between activities a little easier, Fast Travel fees have also been waived for the entire month.

The latest Red Dead Online monthly update is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with all featured bonuses running through August 31st. If you need to know more, hit up the Rockstar Newswire.
