Relive your High School Years with the latest expansion for The Sims 4

School may currently be out for summer, but it’s unlikely to be forever – especially if you pick up the latest expansion for The Sims 4, as it gives you the chance to relive those High School Years.

No matter what your age, it’s likely that your High School Years could well have been the best years of your life. EA and Maxis are hoping to be able to help you relive those times with their latest expansion pack for The Sims 4. Titled High School Years it will give you the chance to navigate back through your teenage times, working a life of self-discovery and living out those High School dreams.

It seems a perfect fit for The Sims 4 as you get to continue to experiment with life like never before. Creating stories and building worlds is what this game does best and with the High School Years add-on, you’ll be able to do that more than ever before; learning, growing, expressing your self.

“The Sims 4 High School Years takes players on a journey of growth to tell personal stories of self-discovery and the drama of being a teenager,” said George Pigula, Lead Producer of The Sims 4 High School Years. “Sims will learn to juggle school and extracurricular events, form lifelong friends, and experience big moments like prom. They can even develop their own fashion likes & dislikes with the new Trendi app with clothes designed by Depop sellers. High school is an incredibly formative time, and we wanted to give players the chance to create and customize their own, personalized high school experiences before their Sims reach young adulthood.”

It’s the Copperdale High School which plays host to the High School Years expansion, as you see your Sim attend classes, take in extracurricular activities, go on dates and even enjoy the best night of their lives at the prom.

Key features include:

  • Vibing Streamer Gear — Transform your bedroom into a gaming paradise, streaming studio, or a platform to influence trends with a new gaming chair, wireless speaker, and LED panels when you order through September 8**.
  • Experience High School — Experience all the ups and downs of high school. Attend classes in person, get to know your teachers, hang out in the cafeteria, and even decorate your locker! Your most treasured moments might happen while loitering around with your friends after school.
  • Iconic Teen Moments — Dance the night away at prom and celebrate your graduation ceremony (if you keep up with your schoolwork!). In addition to those big moments, Sims can make lifelong friends, be asked out by other teens, participate in after-school activities and teams, and experience the rollercoaster of puberty.
  • Shake Things Up — High school is a time of self-discovery! Find the confidence to ask your crush out or the guts to skip class (don’t let the principal catch you). Teen Sims will explore their own likes and dislikes, and have new opportunities to cause mischief. Pranks and sneaking out after dark can have consequences, so be careful you don’t get caught.
  • Explore Your Style — Make your bedroom your own, plan outfits with clothes designed by Depop sellers, and become a Simfluencer! Teen Sims can earn money by selling outfits and hyping up looks they design on Trendi right from their bedrooms, which are now more interactive than ever. Use a tablet, read a book in bed, or even have a pillow fight!

With EA and The Sims teaming up with circular fashion marketplace app Depop, the next generation comes to discover unique items. Fashion has always been a huge part of self-expression in The Sims, and the collaboration expands on the game’s fashion looks, as teen Sims can create their own sense of style and set trends for others to follow. Sims can purchase clothing items designed by real-world Depop sellers Jeremy Salazar, Sha’an D’Antes, Lapoze McTribouy, Selena Williams and Bella McFadden in-game at the local thrift store and boba hangout, ThrifTea, hype up their looks and earn Simoleons by selling outfits on the new in-game Trendi apps – and become a “Simfluencer” in the process.

The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack could well be one of the best additions to The Sims 4 for a little while. Pick it up from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, on PlayStation or PC. It costs £34.99.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
