The Cute Whale
The Cute Whale – out now on Xbox and PC

If you’re looking for a break from the high-octane action of AAA blockbusters, a soothing new puzzle game has just washed ashore to help you unwind.

The Cute Whale, a charming logic adventure from our friends at Afil Games, has launched. This adorable new title is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC for the wallet-friendly price of just £4.19.

Prepare to guide a lovable whale through a series of handcrafted stages, where strategy meets relaxation in a quest to restore harmony to the ocean.

A Deep Dive into Relaxation

In The Cute Whale, the goal isn’t to save the world from an alien invasion or survive a zombie apocalypse. Instead, your mission is far more peaceful: you must guide a friendly whale through the ocean, helping lost turtles find their way back to safety.

It’s a game designed to be played at your own pace, offering a deep breath of fresh air for puzzle fans.

Pushing Turtles to Safety

This is a classic block-pushing puzzle game (Sokoban-style) with a delightful nautical twist.

You will need to plan your routes carefully, repositioning your whale to gently push turtles onto specific buoys. Every move brings you closer to solving the stage, but space is limited, and one wrong push could leave you stranded.

Your journey will take you through 30 handcrafted levels spread across three distinct and vibrant biomes: the sunny Caribbean Sea, the colourful Coral Reef, and the mysterious Deep Sea. Each world introduces new visual flair and slightly trickier layouts to master.

Choose Your Ocean

For the achievement hunters and collectors out there, The Cute Whale is available on the Microsoft Store in three distinct versions, all priced at £4.19:

  • Soothing Atmosphere: Enjoy charming pixel art and calming sea ambience.

The waves are calm, and the turtles are waiting. If you’re a fan of relaxing puzzle games and need a moment of zen in your day, The Cute Whale is ready to make a splash on the Xbox Store right now.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
