It’s time to once again rally the fellowship in Wartile as today sees the arrival of post-story DLC Hel’s Nightmare, and the Complete Edition of the tabletop board game replica.
Wartile takes the traditional board game and flips it off the table, replacing turn-based battles with real-time skirmishes and movement, delivering a unique experience for board game veterans and newbies alike. It also looks absolutely stunning, hand carved 3D dioramas really fall into place with the Norse mythological tale. For more thoughts, check out our review here.
Hel’s Nightmare continues that trend with more battle boards all set after the conclusion of the main game in Niflheim. Evil powers have awoken and raised the dead; Draugr Warriors are crawling out from below and are pillaging villages, leaving all sorts of chaos and destruction in their wake. Their newly imprisoned civilians are being brought to Hel’s Pillar. The King of the North is helpless; it is up to you to once again bring together your Viking fellowship into battle and save the civilians. The culmination of two years work from the team at Playwood Project, Hel’s Nightmare will contain five brand new battle boards in which to defeat the hordes of undead. Each of these offers a variety of tactical challenges and – much like the main game – multiple routes to complete your objectives. There is also the option to recruit a new member to your fellowship: Ogier the Dane.
Wartile: Hel’s Nightmare is available to download right away priced at £8.39 but you will need to have completed the main campaign before accessing it. If you haven’t downloaded Wartile yet, that can be found here priced at for £16.74, whilst the new Wartile: Complete Edition will include the base game, this Hel’s Nightmare DLC, the Yggdrasil Pack ad the Item Pack. It’ll set you back £22.49.
