Developer Hyper Games, the acclaimed studio behind the recent hit Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, has announced its next project: Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth.
This new cozy, story-rich adventure is set to launch on PC and consoles in 2026.
Following the success of their first Moomin game, Hyper Games is once again inviting players back to the beloved universe of Tove Jansson, this time for a charming but cold winter journey.
A Chilly, Charming New Story
Inspired by Tove Jansson’s classic book, Moominland Midwinter, the game begins when Moomintroll unexpectedly wakes up early from his winter hibernation. He finds himself completely alone for the first time, in a Moominvalley he barely recognises, now cloaked in the frosty veil of the Lady of the Cold.
Initially seeking someone to care for him and longing to simply banish the winter, young Moomintroll reluctantly embarks on a journey into the unknown.
Along the way, he will learn to forge new friendships and find joy in helping those in greater need than himself, discovering the hidden warmth of winter.

Building on that success, Hyper Games is again collaborating with the Moomin estate. While this new title is not a direct sequel and can be enjoyed on its own, it promises to capture that same heartfelt tone.

You will take on the role of everyone’s favourite Moomin on a quest for warmth and friendship, solving environmental puzzles set in beautifully crafted, cozy surroundings.
