Legend has it that one of our very own on TheXboxHub team absolutely adores 90’s old-school arcade racers. The likes of Horizon Chase 2, New Star GP and others have captivated us in recent months, so the arrival of a new challenger to the scene can only be a good thing. Enter Steel Racer, from Ratailaka Games and lightUP.
Ready, Set, Go!
Three separate difficulty settings, three levels of traction assist, and a multitude of racing seasons to play through ensures that Steel Racer is the racer of the people, with anyone being able to give things a go regardless of their ability.
It’s now available on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, with the game available on PC for just over a year now.
With the classic chiptune music and 2D pixelated visuals that one would expect of such a retro arcade racer, here you will blast across 50 different circuits, each granting you reward money if you manage to outcompete your fellow rivals. With this dosh, you’ll head to the garage, upgrade and customise your vehicles, and head back out onto the track.
Eventually, you’ll hopefully have the titles and street cred required to become the ultimate “Steel Racer”.
