We’ve known for a while that RIDE 4 would be rolling out onto Xbox One, PS4 and PC come October 8th 2020, and there is a good chance that it would be easily the best motorbike racer yet. Well, if you’re all about the next-gen, then Milestone have got news for you – RIDE 4 is coming to Xbox Series X and PS5, with next-gen details and release dates now confirmed.

RIDE 4 promises to deliver the ultimate two-wheel racing experience for all bike lovers and not only will you be able to play it on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come mid-October, but it’ll also release on Xbox Series X and PS5 on January 21th 2021.

The latest chapter of its beloved franchise that is utterly dedicated to all two-wheel lovers, following on from RIDE 3 and RIDE 2, RIDE 4 will be available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation5 in January with players purchasing the PS4 version of the game able to download the PS5 version at no extra cost until April 30th 2021 – and yep, that will included all DLCs already purchased. And as we know, those purchasing the Xbox One version will be able to automatically download the Xbox Series X version of the game at no additional cost thanks to the Smart Delivery feature.

So what should we expect to see with the next gen RIDE 4? Well you’ll get the chance to experience the excitement of riding a 200 HP bike in fast paced and adrenaline-filled races all over the world, with smoother, shinier gameplay running at 60FPS with a resolution up to 4K. That means you will be able to enjoy your beloved bikes with the highest quality shaders and textures, with a never seen before level of detail both for bikes and environments.

Further to that, the riding experience will be more precise, satisfying and natural and thanks to the extra power of next gen consoles all races both online and offline will be now even more compelling, with 20 riders competing for the victory.

But that’s not all and On PS5, RIDE 4 fans will experience the power of the PS5 DualSense advanced haptic feedback, to let players feel their vehicles’ vibrations just like when they ride it on the streets. Gas and brakes’ levers will have their own resistance to transmit the same feeling of their real-life counterparts. Thanks to the new SSD, loading times will be significantly reduced. That means shorter waiting time before any race, but also a better gameplay experience during races. That is because it will enable a much faster streaming of textures, allowing us to better immerse players into our environments while they speed at 300 km/h.

Things get better still though and with RIDE 4, Milestone have partnered with two of the most iconic brands of the two-wheel world, Yamaha Motor (their main partner) and Bridgestone. Yamaha Motor will also be featured on the Steelbook of the boxed RIDE 4 Special Edition, dedicated to the iconic Yamaha R1 2020 that will also allow access to the Season Pass.

Paolo Pavesio, Marketing and Motorsport Director, Yamaha Motor Europe commented: “with Milestone and RIDE 4 we have taken great steps not only towards our fans and customers but towards the motorcycle lovers as a whole. For us as a company it is important to nurture the passion and open our family to all those whose hearts rev together with ours, using on-line experience as an entry door to “real” motorcycles or either to stretch the off-line experience to moments when you have to stay at home. At the end, it is simply a different expression of the same emotion, therefore it is no coincidence that Yamaha is among the pioneers of the eSports world, injecting our signature racing DNA. In this important year when we are celebrating 65th anniversary, we have chosen Milestone – a partner that shares our values and vision of innovation and adrenaline – in order to “bring the game to the next level” and proof that on one side we are proud of our heritage, but on the other we are looking forward to the next 65 years… at least! To be honest, I cannot wait to get a copy of RIDE 4 in my console…”.

“As a global leader in mobility solutions, Bridgestone has always embraced the spirit of the true riders, supporting them with its products and technology, whether they are travelling with their bike, enjoying a beautiful scenery or racing at 300 km/h on a track”, commented Nico Thuy, Head of Motorcycle Business at Bridgestone EMIA. “This partnership with Milestone and RIDE 4, gives us the opportunity to get even closer with this passionate community, letting them experience our vast portfolio of premium motorcycle tyres even when they are competing online or simply relaxing with a ride in the virtual world”.

If you’re interested in getting a pre-order of RIDE 4 in and live then you should be able to get hold of a copy on Xbox One and PS4 from today. Doing so will see you getting access to a Bonus Pack with 2 iconic bikes, 5 new events and 1 additional achievement/trophy, while the Special Edition pre-order Bonus Pack will, contain 4 iconic bikes, 10 new events, 2 additional achievements/trophies and 3-days early access before launch. Over on Steam, the pre-order Bonus will guarantee a 10% discount on the game price, 2 iconic bikes, 5 new events and 1 additional achievement.

Let us know in the comments if you’ll be going in with RIDE 4 on current consoles, or whether you’ll be holding off until January for that Xbox Series X and PS5 version.
