It’s the hump of the month and the freebies hitting Xbox gamers the world over just don’t stop coming. Today, as the Xbox Games With Gold scheme swaps the free games, we see Rivals of Aether delivered to Xbox One gamers at no extra cost.

Available to download for free right now from the Xbox Store, Rivals of Aether takes the fighting scene that we know and love from Super Smash Bros and twists things up a bit, pushing out multiple civilisations who just love to make the most of the Earth, Air, Fire and Water elements in order to do a bit of damage.

First released on Xbox One back in 2016 as an Xbox Game Preview title, Rivals of Aether finally made its way to full release in the summer of 2017 after the development process was fully completed by Dan Fornace. And if you are after a bit of party fun with a game that comes complete with some rather nifty fighting mechanics and clever ideas, then this is quite possibly the game for you – especially now that it is free to download until the next switch around in mid-July.

Should you wish to know more about the free titles winging their way to Xbox One and Xbox 360 through the month of June 2019 thanks to the power of Xbox Games With Gold, then let me point you in the direction of our in-depth article. Give it a read and then head over to the Xbox Store to nab a bit of free love with Rivals of Aether on Xbox One. Just remember, you’ll need a valid Xbox Live Gold membership in place to enjoy the zero cost price.

Game Description:

Rivals of Aether is an indie fighting game set in a world where warring civilizations summon the power of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Play with up to four players locally or up to two players online.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
