Road Kings – hauling in 2026

The highways of the American South are calling, and a new dynasty of trucking is about to be forged in Road Kings.

Focus Entertainment and the simulation masters at Saber Interactive (Jurassic Park: Survival) have officially revealed Road Kings, a brand-new, next-gen truck simulation game.

Revealed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, the game is planned for release in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

From Rookie Driver to King of the Road

This new title invites players to take the driver’s seat of a 40-ton semi and carve out their own reputation in a realistic, story-driven adventure set across the vast and vibrant landscapes of the American South.

Road Kings is more than just a driving game; it’s a career simulation where you will build your own story on the open road. You will start as a humble rookie driver, taking on long-haul deliveries to build your reputation. Along the way, you will encounter cunning rivals, helpful allies, dangerous weather, and treacherous roads, all while managing your routes, cargo, and client demands.

The ultimate goal is to rise through the ranks and become a seasoned and respected owner-operator, the true king of the road.

A Living, Breathing American South

The game is set in an immersive open world, with faithfully recreated, customizable branded trucks for you to command.

The journey will take you through breathtaking landscapes inspired by the real-life Florida-Georgia border. You will navigate interstates with accurate road signs, explore diverse biomes filled with rich detail, and pass by iconic landmarks as you travel between locations like the busy city of Jacksonville and the shady streets of historic Savannah.

This is a living, reactive world with its own narrative. A ruthless corporation is expanding across the South, threatening catastrophe in the name of profit. When disaster inevitably strikes, it will be up to you to make it through. You’ll take on high-stakes jobs to rescue communities and deliver critical supplies, proving that out on the road, a helping hand can make all the difference.

More Than Just a Delivery

Road Kings promises a deep and engaging simulation experience where every aspect of your truck and your business matters.

This is a true next-gen simulation where every detail counts. You will need to manage your truck’s weight, wear and tear, brakes, torque, tires, and transmission. You’ll also have to contend with dynamic weather and changing road surfaces that will challenge your driving skills.

You can forge your own path to success. By earning a reputation with different drivers, dispatchers, and agencies, you can choose to diversify your clients or become the star vendor for a select few. The game also features asynchronous multiplayer, allowing you to join or create your own company and climb the global leaderboards.

A Word from the Creators

The teams at Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive are excited to bring their combined expertise to this new project.

“We are thrilled to start on another exciting journey with our longtime partner Saber Interactive,” says John Bert, Managing Director at Focus Entertainment Publishing. “Road Kings is a project that truly combines Saber’s technical expertise with Focus Entertainment’s passion for immersive simulation experiences. Together, we’re aiming to deliver a deeper gameplay experience and a more dynamic adventure for players.

As a native Floridian, it is awesome to see parts of my home state recreated in Road Kings,” said Matthew Karch, Saber CEO. “I spent hundreds of hours on those roads as a kid and now we are bringing them to life in a game that creates a new category in the simulation space.

The engine is warming up on what promises to be the next evolution in trucking simulation.

With a deep, narrative-driven career mode and an incredibly detailed world, Road Kings is a must-watch for all sim fans. You can wishlist the game now on Steam and prepare to hit the open road in 2026, with release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
