Rock along to the beat in MUSYNX on Xbox

Over on the PC scene, the likes of osu! and A Dance of Fire and Ice have pioneered a resurgence of neon-lit nightmares of rhythm games. MUSYNX is yet another title that has players smashing away at their keys in response to a wide range of tunes. Now, it’s the turn of Xbox players to get involved.

As of today, I-Inferno’s MUSYNX is landing on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, with the game being available for around four years over in the land of PC, PlayStation and Switch. The format is pretty darn simple: pick your song, from a range spanning pop, R&B, trance and classical, and hit the correct buttons as indicators reach a bar at the bottom of your screen. Those familiar with any Guitar Hero offering should be right at home here, albeit the tempo can get fiendishly high, truly testing the reaction speeds of the most determined of gamers.

Only a quick glance at the key art for MUSYNX is needed for one to expect a visual overload as well as an auditory one, with some of the best manga artists brought in by the devs to ensure you are listening along in a number of dreamscapes and the like. This is, of course, to complement the work of a number of composers whose work you can jam along to, including the likes of M2U and the bad-ass sounding Paul Bazooka.

And that’s pretty much all there is to MUSYNX on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One: it’s the latest in a long line of rhythm action games that seem best suited to the youth of today with reaction speeds more akin to a hawk than a human – but that’s not to put anyone else off! We’ll let you know what we make of it in review.

MUSYNX is now available for Xbox platforms via the Xbox Store – head on over there to pick up a copy for a bargain £3.29. Alternatively, MUSYNX Deluxe Edition will set you back £16.74, with that adding in six DLC packs and more in the future.

Those DLC drops are available as individual purchases too…

Game Description:

MUSYNX is the next destination of choice for rhythm game fans to rock out and stretch their rhythmic fingers! The simple, organic game mechanics will put players to the test with rhythms and beats like no other. With multiple difficulty levels and a huge range of genres to choose from (pop, classical, trance, vocaloid, R&B, and more).

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
