pathfinder wrath of the righteous launch

Developers Owlcat Games will be hoping that the console port of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous fares a bit better than the port for the previous Pathfinder title. We at TheXboxHub gave Pathfinder: Kingmaker a 3/5 score, on account of its interesting and intricate story and satisfying combat, but terrible performance on console.

Releasing today onto Xbox, PlayStation and Switch – following a PC release a year ago – Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous once again places you into the shoes of a powerful hero, capable of wielding magical powers and transcending the mortal plane. It’s a classic tale of saving the realm from invading forces; this time, the region of Worldwound has been fighting a bloody war against a terror originating from the Abyss – a rift in the world. It’s been centuries now, and the war seems not to let up. That is, until you step in.

Be you a healing guardian angel, devastating necromancer, or another warrior altogether, you can guarantee that Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will have you trawling through dungeons like nobody’s business. From the twenty-five classes and twelve character races to choose from, you’ll then command an army of other characters, the fates of which are in your hands; decisions regarding who lives and dies in a battle will have far-reaching implications for the world and the story it is telling.

Similar to the likes of Dragon Age, Pathfinder will have you controlling both your party and your individual character in weighty, tactical combat. What’s more, you’ll also have the decision between having this play out in a turn-based manner, or in real time. Play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous how you want, and carve out your own adventure!

The nine Mythic Paths available to you will also shape your character, granting you all-powerful abilities that can turn the tide of a battle in an instant, such as by morphing you into an omnipotent Gold Dragon.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. For Xbox players, you can pick up a copy from the Xbox Store for £42.99.

Game Description:

Embark on a journey to a realm overrun by demons in a new epic RPG from the creators of the critically acclaimed Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Explore the nature of good and evil, learn the true cost of power, and rise as a Mythic Hero capable of deeds beyond mortal expectations. Discover the Story Your path will lead you to the Worldwound, where the opening of a rift to the Abyss has unleashed all-consuming terror across the land. For over a century, the neighboring nations have fought fearlessly, trying to drive the enemy back — but to little avail. Now, you have the chance to put an end to this conflict, but the path to salvation is far from clear-cut. Will you become a shining angel, backed by noble paladins? Or a powerful necromancer with hordes of immortal undead in your thrall? Or something else entirely? Lead your army and challenge mighty demon lords. Your crusade will set in motion a chain of events that will leave you — and the world itself — forever changed.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
