Stay Still
Stay Still – on Xbox

Stay Still, a chilling first-person horror, inspired by Vietnamese culture and urban legends, has just unlocked its doors on the Xbox and PC stores – but it arrives with a history.

Stay Still, has been available on PC for a couple of years, but today it hits Xbox. This new console port from developer Galactic Crows and publisher Dolores Entertainment is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC for ÂŁ8.39, and comes with full Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Prepare to explore oppressive rooms and solve environmental puzzles in a game where your only weapons are your wits and your ears. But with a mixed reception from PC players, the big question is: can this console version win over a new audience?

From a “Mixed” PC Reception to a New Console Home

While today marks its debut on console, Stay Still first launched on Steam back in 2023. In that time, it has garnered a “Mixed” review score from the PC community.

Now, with its arrival on the Xbox platform, a whole new audience has the chance to step into this haunted house and form their own opinion on this divisive horror experience.

Run, Hide, and Sharpen Your Ears

There is no combat in Stay Still. If you want to live to tell the tale, you will need to run and hide from the spirits that stalk the halls. The game features meticulous sound design, and sharpening your ears to listen for your pursuers is the key to survival.

This is a game of investigation and puzzle-solving. You will need to explore the oppressive rooms of the house, watching your surroundings, connecting clues, and solving environmental puzzles to open new paths and progress through the disturbing story.

In Stay Still, you play as Nam, who finds himself trapped in a mysterious house. He soon discovers that the home is scarred by a brutal crime that took place in 2008, and the spirits of the past are not resting peacefully. You must survive long enough to unearth the house’s dark secret.

Your Stay, on Any Screen

Stay Still is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. And yeah, that means you’ll be able to play it on your brand new ROG Ally X handheld.

This fantastic feature means your terrifying night can continue, no matter which device you’re on. A single digital purchase on the Xbox Store for ÂŁ8.39 unlocks the game for you on both your Xbox Series X|S console and your Windows PC.

All of your progress and clues are synced via the cloud, so you can seamlessly switch between platforms.

Your Renter’s Agreement

Here’s what you can expect from your stay at this haunted house:

  • A First-Person Survival Horror: Explore oppressive rooms and solve environmental puzzles to survive the night.
  • No Combat: If you want to live, you’ll need to run, hide, and sharpen your ears.
  • Inspired by Vietnamese Culture and Urban Legends.
  • A Divisive PC Title Comes to Console.
  • Xbox Play Anywhere Enabled.

The house is waiting and its secrets are ready to be unearthed. If you’re a fan of tense, atmospheric survival horror and are ready to see what all the debate is about, Stay Still is ready for you to check in on the Xbox Store right now. Will you make it to the morning?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
