Some games put you up against an imposing police force. Militsioner goes one better by putting an absolutely enormous policeman in charge of watching your every move.
The surreal first-person immersive sim from TALLBOYS and CRITICAL REFLEX has been confirmed for Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027, with the biggest news being that Militsioner will launch day one into Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.
That means Game Pass subscribers will be able to step into this strange, suspicious city without needing to pay anything extra – and judging by the game’s premise, this is shaping up to be one of the more unusual arrivals on the service.

You’ve Been Arrested. Apparently.
Militsioner begins with a fairly major problem: you’ve been arrested.
Exactly why is another matter. You’re just an ordinary person who doesn’t believe they’ve done anything particularly noteworthy, let alone criminal. Nevertheless, you’ve found yourself in trouble and your new objective is simple – gather your belongings and get out of the city.
The complication? The entire place is being watched over by a Colossal Policeman.
This gigantic figure isn’t just there for decoration either. Every move you make could attract attention, meaning escaping the city will require careful planning, quick thinking and perhaps a willingness to bend a few rules.
There Is More Than One Way Out
As an immersive sim, Militsioner is built around freedom and player choice. Obstacles can be tackled in a variety of ways, whether that means running, hiding, sneaking, stealing, bribing, lying or manipulating the people around you. And further, you can decide who to trust, who to avoid and, who to snitch on.
The risks and consequences will change depending on your actions, while the city itself is designed to be a dynamic place where characters follow their own schedules and new opportunities can emerge depending on the time of day.
Even the Giant Has Feelings
Perhaps the most wonderfully strange element of Militsioner is its relationship system.
Every character has their own mood, which can be influenced through conversations, gifts and your general behaviour. Keep people happy and they may prove useful. Annoy them and they could decide you’re worth reporting.
And yes, this applies to the Colossal Policeman too. The giant has his own mood that players can influence, with the developers even suggesting that you can go on a date with him. Just perhaps don’t plan that particular outing while he’s on duty.
A City That Refuses to Stand Still
The world of Militsioner will constantly shift around the player. Changing the time of day can reveal new routes and possibilities, while real-time flooding can open previously inaccessible areas. Even an eclipse can dramatically change proceedings.
It’s that combination of a reactive world, multiple approaches and the ever-present giant policeman that should make Militsioner particularly interesting. You may be trying to escape the same city as everyone else, but how you get there could be entirely your own story.
A Big Game Pass Arrival For 2027
The Xbox @ Gamescom Showcase reveal marks the first time Militsioner has been confirmed for consoles, and the day one Game Pass launch is undoubtedly a major part of the announcement.
Immersive sims tend to reward experimentation, curiosity and repeated attempts – exactly the sort of game that can benefit from being readily available through a subscription. And with Militsioner promising multiple solutions to problems and a world that reacts to your decisions, Game Pass players should be able to dive in and see just how far they can push this bizarre city.
Just remember one thing. The Policeman is always watching.
Militsioner launches in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Xbox Store, with a day one launch on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.
