RuneScape: Dragonwilds is edging ever closer to its full launch, and while the latest gameplay update adds even more reasons to jump into Ashenfall, it’s the newly unveiled physical editions that are likely to grab the attention of collectors.
Jagex has confirmed that RuneScape: Dragonwilds will receive both Standard and Deluxe Physical Editions for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC later this year, complete with a physical disc and a selection of exclusive collector’s items.
Alongside the announcement, the studio has also released Update 0.12.1, bringing a major overhaul to the Agility skill for current Early Access players on Steam.

A Physical Edition Worth Collecting
Physical boxed releases (and physical in general) may be becoming less common, but RuneScape: Dragonwilds is bucking the trend. Launching on November 5th, both the Standard and Deluxe Physical Editions will arrive on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, with the Deluxe version aimed squarely at long-time RuneScape fans.
Alongside a physical copy of the game, the Physical Deluxe Edition includes:
- Exclusive Collector’s Box
- Steelbook featuring original artwork
- Three embroidered Skill Patches
- Five holographic Character Cards
- Cloth Map of Ashenfall
Players also receive every piece of digital bonus content included with the Digital Deluxe Edition, making it the definitive package for anyone looking to explore Ashenfall in style. We’d suspect that you would be interested in the official Runescape cookbook if you’re looking at that physical edition too.
Deluxe Digital Rewards Included Too
Whether players opt for the physical or digital Deluxe Edition, they’ll also gain access to a sizeable bundle of in-game extras.
These include craftable Gilded Armour and a matching Gilded Cape, six retro-inspired Old School RuneScape helmets, decorative Dragon head wall mounts, ten paintings, plus animated Muncher and Chinchompa decorations for player-built homes.
The Digital Deluxe Edition launches alongside the full game on September 15th, while the physical editions follow several weeks later.
Agility Gets A Major Upgrade
Although the physical editions steal the headlines, current players aren’t being left empty-handed.
Update 0.12.1 is available now in Steam Early Access, completely revamping the Agility skill with new progression systems, movement options and rewards.
Players can now tackle six dedicated Agility courses complete with leaderboards and Gold Medal rewards, unlock new horizontal dash abilities, gain passive Agility XP while travelling the world, and use a new breakfall mechanic to recover more quickly from dangerous drops.
Traversal has also been significantly improved thanks to higher jumps, reduced fall damage, increased air control and stamina improvements, while higher Agility levels now increase carrying capacity. Elsewhere, combat responsiveness has been refined, spellcasting movement restrictions have been eased, and the Mystic Forge now allows players to upgrade Masterworks and weapons even further.

Ashenfall Beckons
Unlike the long-running MMORPG that inspired it, RuneScape: Dragonwilds takes the series into open-world survival territory, challenging solo players or groups of up to four to gather resources, build shelters, master powerful magic and survive the dragon-infested continent of Ashenfall.
Earlier this year, we covered the confirmation of the game’s full console release date, and Jagex is now hyping things some more, ahead of launch, while also giving collectors something tangible to look forward to.
