April is here and the new free Xbox Games With Gold titles are in place. Ryse anyone?

Ryse: Son of Rome is one of the earliest ever Xbox One titles, launching alongside the console to rather mixed reviews. It is also one of the most requested, hotly anticipated GWG titles ever, with gamers across the globe holding out hope that one day it would arrive. Well that time is now.

Ryse: Son of Rome puts you in the shoes of soldier, Marius Titus as he heads off on a campaign of vengeance and honor, all set in an alternate version of Rome. A third person adventure with absolutely stunning visuals, Ryse will immerse you in a wonderful world of cinematics, fluid fighting scenes and a fairly decent story which you’ll want to stick with in order to see the end. Some may complain at the repetitive nature, and we can’t for one minute pretend it’s a seriously in-depth gameplay experience, but for what it is, Ryse delivers the good.

And now that it’s free, it’s delivering those goods for nothing.

You will of course need a valid Xbox Live Gold membership in order to get your download in, and you’ll only have until the end of April 2017 to hit that download button, but should you meet those requirements, then you’re going to be pretty much sorted.

Don’t forget, if you like what Ryse is giving you, it may be worth hitting up the Season Pass too! The Xbox Games Store will be able to sort you out, whilst our look at the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for April 2017 article is right here.

Game Description:

Amidst the chaos of the late Roman Empire, become soldier Marius Titus and embark on a perilous campaign to avenge the death of your family and defend the honor of Rome. In Gladiator Mode, step into the Colosseum and fight for the glory, spectacle, and entertainment of the crowds.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
