Breakups are difficult enough without mysterious voices whispering from antique mirrors.
That is the situation facing Alice in Saccharine Echo, a psychological visual novel now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
Published by Xitilon and developed by Neverliss, the game blends supernatural horror, romance and choice-driven storytelling inside a modern-day Scottish setting where reality quickly begins to blur.
And judging by the setup, you may want to think very carefully before trusting the charming figure trapped inside that mirror.

A Relationship That Quickly Turns Strange
Saccharine Echo begins in Scotland during 2020, following Alice as she struggles through the aftermath of a painful breakup. Looking for distraction, she buys a vintage mirror online – a decision that almost immediately leads to increasingly disturbing events inside her flat.
Soon, Alice discovers a mysterious entity named Dinah trapped within the mirror itself. Whether Dinah is a ghost, demon or something else entirely becomes one of the game’s central mysteries, especially as the relationship between the two characters grows deeper over time.
Like many narrative-driven visual novels, Saccharine Echo places heavy emphasis on player choice. The decisions made throughout the story influence Alice’s personality, how she copes with trauma and the nature of her connection with Dinah. But does this strange relationship represents comfort, manipulation, obsession or something far more dangerous altogether…
That ambiguity appears to be one of the game’s strongest hooks. Dinah’s theatrical appearance and sweet-talking behaviour clearly suggest someone – or something – hiding deeper intentions beneath the surface.
A Different Kind Of Horror Story
We have tons of horror games on Xbox, but Saccharine Echo takes a noticeably more personal and character-focused approach compared to larger survival horror releases.
For players who enjoy visual novels, psychological storytelling and supernatural mysteries with a darker edge, this latest launch could prove difficult to look away from. Even if that mirror probably should have stayed exactly where it was.
