Kill It With Fire 2
Kill It With Fire 2 – on Game Pass

The Arachnid Apocalypse is upon us, and this time, the mission is multiversal with KILL IT WITH FIRE! 2, the explosive 1.0 release of the co-op spider-hunting sequel.

This insane shooter is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

This isn’t just another launch; it’s an emergency call. The game is a Day One debutant on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, meaning you and up to three friends can immediately grab a laser sword and begin your crusade against the spider horde taking over the multiverse.

A Legacy of Joyful Destruction

The foundation of this chaos is one we know and love. In our 4/5 review of the original Kill It With Fire, we summarised the simple joy of the franchise:

Put simply, Kill It With Fire on Xbox is brilliant. It’s original, preposterous, but more importantly an absolute hoot. It does what few games have the power to, which is put a smile on your face and fill your heart with joy.

KILL IT WITH FIRE! 2 takes that successful formula and expands it exponentially with multiplayer mayhem and even wilder worlds.

The Arachnid Apocalypse, Evolved

The biggest mechanical jump from the original game is the inclusion of online multiplayer for the first time ever.

You can now play through the entire story campaign with up to four players in online co-op. Your team is the Exterminator on a crusade across seven distinct worlds, from a mysterious manor and a town in the Wild West, to Cyberspace and the final, massive “Spider Hell” level (inspired by DOOM).

But there’s more and if you want to turn the tables, you can jump into the frenetic 8-player PvP mode called Spider Hunt. You can actually play as the eight-legged monsters, pitting actual humans against actual arachnids for some laughs and screams.

Gear Up and Exterminate

You can wage war on the eight-legged monsters with an arsenal of 45 weapons and gadgets. Will your team smash the pests with a newspaper, burn them to a crisp, rev up the minigun, unleash a rocket launcher, or wield a laser sword?

You’ll also take on dozens of unique challenge missions, like demolishing a megapolis as a kaiju-sized madman or winning a drone race in virtual reality.

Endless Replayability

The game features deep progression. Beating the campaign unlocks harder difficulties to earn better rewards, further building out your heroes.

The new slapstick plot, written by Miles Luna (RWBY, Red vs. Blue), will guide you through this absurd journey.

Your Exterminator’s License

KILL IT WITH FIRE! 2 is a huge value proposition. The game is a full Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning a single download via your Game Pass subscription unlocks the game on both your Xbox console and your Windows PC.

You can purchase the Standard Edition for ÂŁ12.49.

Your Extermination Dossier

Here is a summary of the chaos awaiting you:

  • Day One Game Pass Launch: Available on Xbox and PC Game Pass.
  • 4-Player Co-op Campaign: Play the entire story with up to three friends.
  • 8-Player PvP Mode: The frenetic Humans vs. Spiders “Spider Hunt” mode.
  • 45 Wild Weapons & Gadgets: Including the laser sword, minigun, and rocket launcher.
  • 7 Worlds to Save: From the Wild West to Cyberspace and Spider Hell.
  • Full Xbox Play Anywhere Support.

The multiversal spider horde is here, and your rocket launcher is ready. If you’re a Game Pass member or a fan of chaotic, laugh-out-loud action, KILL IT WITH FIRE! 2 is ready for deployment on the Xbox Store right now. Also find it on PlayStation 5 and PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
