Scrub up as Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas comes to Xbox, Game Pass and PC

It’s been 8 years since Surgeon Simulator took the Steam store by storm and 12 months or so since the sequel pushed things on further. Now though Bossa Studios are back with Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas for PC, Xbox and Game Pass – and this ultimate edition is packed to the rafters with content.

Available today for Xbox players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S to enjoy, as well as those PC folk who are looking for something new in their surgical lives, Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas builds on previous drops with new maps, characters and game modes, alongside the addition of a Free-for-All mode.

You can also throw in crossplay on PC between Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store pages.

But what exactly is Surgeon Simulator 2? Well, as the name suggests it puts you in the role of a top-quality surgeon ass you and your friends go to work at the Bossa Labs Medical Facility. It’s here where you’ll get to work on Bob, making sure he doesn’t bleed out as you perform all manner of surgical experiments on him.

It’s not going to be as simple as the likes of Operation from back in the day, yet with a Campaign mode that has been completed with a narrative from the award-winning Rhianna Pratchett, and a Creation mode for those feeling a little creative with what is on offer – head transplants, anyone – if you’re up for a bit of blood-filled party action, we’re not sure anything could deliver it better than Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas.

“After a lot of Bob’s blood, sweat and tears, we’re excited to say that Access All Areas is now ready for a new generation of wannabe surgeons,” commented Sylvain Cornillon, Executive Producer on Surgeon Simulator 2. “Our team has worked hard to bring you the most ludicrous surgery simulator we could imagine. It’s time to grab that saw – or any other tool available, from rubber ducks to plungers- and save the life of Bob and his clones!”

Key game features include:

  • Multiplayer co-op play in all game modes
  • Single-player solo play
  • Story mode written by Rhianna Pratchett
  • Sandbox level building tool
  • Ever-expanding library of UGC levels
  • Free, unlockable character cosmetics
  • Online matchmaking, or party-up with friends
  • Voice chat

We’re working on our full review as we speak and our thoughts surrounding how Surgeon Simulator 2 on Xbox plays out will be live in the days ahead. For now though take a trip to your favourite digital store (the Xbox Store page is right here) and pick up a copy of the game from 5pm UK time. Remember, it’s available on Game Pass too.

Bossa are even throwing in a copy of their weird I Am Bread if you purchase the game on Xbox.

Game Description:

It’s time to ‘scrub in’ solo or play as 4 friends online in this physics-based surgery sim with ludicrous competitive and coop play, plus an awesome builder mode. Unearth the mysteries of the Bossa Labs Medical Facility and save Bob’s life.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
