Sesame Street Friends & Fun – coming this October

For generations, Sesame Street has been a place where learning, laughter, and friendship come together, and soon young gamers will be able to step directly into that colourful world. Sesame Street: Friends & Fun has officially been unveiled, bringing a brand-new interactive adventure to consoles and PC in October 2026.

Announced by Outright Games, the family-focused publisher behind numerous children’s titles, Sesame Street: Friends & Fun promises a gentle and welcoming experience designed specifically for preschoolers. Better yet, it allows little ones to create their own character and become the newest resident on one of the most famous streets in television history.

The game launches on 9th October 2026 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Welcome To The Neighbourhood

Sesame Street: Friends & Fun centres around something that is fitting for its audience – community.

Players arrive on Sesame Street just as preparations begin for a major neighbourhood celebration. Taking on the role of a brand-new resident, children will spend their time helping friends, completing fun activities, and uncovering surprises as the story unfolds.

The adventure encourages exploration at a relaxed pace, allowing young players to wander through familiar locations inspired by the long-running television series while getting to know some of its most beloved characters.

And yes, Elmo is waiting to say hello.

Learning Through Play

One of Sesame Street’s greatest strengths has always been its ability to educate without feeling like a lesson, and that philosophy appears to sit at the heart of Friends & Fun.

Players will encounter a variety of mini-games, light challenges, and interactive tasks designed to introduce early maths concepts and problem-solving skills. These activities are woven naturally into the story, ensuring that learning feels like part of the fun rather than a separate exercise.

The game also allows players to personalise their own home and customise their character, giving children a chance to express themselves as they become part of the neighbourhood.

A First Video Game For Many Young Players

Outright Games has clearly built Sesame Street: Friends & Fun with accessibility in mind.

Simple controls, positive reinforcement, and a pressure-free structure are intended to make the game approachable for even the youngest players. Parents can feel comfortable letting children explore independently, while older siblings and grown-ups can join the experience thanks to local two-player co-op support.

In many ways, it feels designed to be a child’s first step into gaming – safe, colourful, and filled with familiar faces.

Can You Tell Me How To Get To Sesame Street?

For children who have grown up watching Elmo, Grover, Bert, Ernie, and the rest of the gang, Sesame Street: Friends & Fun could be one of the most charming family releases of 2026. With character customisation, educational activities, cooperative play, and a story focused on friendship, this is shaping up to be a warm and welcoming adventure perfectly suited to younger audiences and their families.

The countdown to the big neighbourhood celebration begins when Sesame Street: Friends & Fun arrives on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 9th October 2026.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
