You thought the war was over? Think again – the Darker Skies are here.
Darker Skies releases on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S to throw you into the life of Jack, a War of the Worlds survivor who is trying to rebuild civilization as he knows it. The problem is, the horrors of the war haven’t properly subsided and so it’ll be left to you to help Jack craft the best weapons and items that he can, all in order to take it to the monstrosities of war. Oh, and you’ll need to rebuild a Heat Ray in the process. No pressure.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Darker Skies will give you the chance to explore a world that has been wrecked by war. It’s here where you – and Jack – will encounter some of the most psychotic enemies ever, those that have suffered by exposure to the Red Weed. You’ll need to take them down, all while collecting enough parts and items to be able to rebuild the most precious of Heat Rays, in the hope of finding a way to freedom.
Priced at £14.99 and optimised for Xbox Series X|S should you be on the next-gen console train, Darker Skies from Steel Arts Software gives you many options, letting you sneak or shoot your way through an extremely tense world. It’ll also let you utilise parts and items in order to create new weaponry, with that promising to shift up the gameplay in ways you could only imagine.
With a ton of horror on the cards, and a decent asking price to boot, this is one you won’t want to miss.
Our full review of Darker Skies will drop once we’ve had the chance to spend enough time in this land to uncover the secrets it holds. In the meantime, get yourself over to the Xbox Store and grab a bit of a download.
