Just when you thought the adventures of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero were over, new content arrives to extend them further. It’s time for her BFFs to shine in the Friends to the End downloadable content; will you be her friend in this time of need?
Taking place somewhere in the middle of the original storyline, Friends to the End has you controlling Shantae’s pals – Sky, Bolo and Rottytops – as you enter the might to rescue her consciousness from the Nightmare Realm, after the villainous Risky Boots turned her into the evil Nega-Shantae. All three of the friends are available at the same time, with the ability to freely swap between them. Each of the heroes has a special ability that is useful for overcoming certain obstacles you’ll face, ensuring you make the most of all their powers.
Sky is agile and can make long jumps thanks to her bird Wrench, with her special ability being the throwing of exploding eggs. The heavy hitter of the gang is Bolo, who uses a Spring Claw to latch onto objects and swing around like a ninja. Last, but not least, is the zombie leg wielding Rottytops, and her special move involves tossing her own head in any direction, sending it through barriers and over or under obstacles, before reforming wherever it lands.
