SEGA has revealed that SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, a brand-new 2D action platformer developed in collaboration with Lizardcube (the studio behind Streets of Rage 4), will launch on August 29th, 2025.

Originally announced at The Game Awards 2023, this modern take on the beloved SHINOBI franchise will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are open now on select platforms.

A Ninja’s Quest for Revenge

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance sees Joe Musashi returning home to a devastating sight: his village in ruins and his clan turned to stone. Fueled by vengeance, Joe embarks on an epic quest to uncover the truth behind this tragedy and bring justice to those responsible.

Players will guide Joe through stunning hand-drawn environments, battling hordes of enemies and larger-than-life bosses with the series’ signature blend of agility and deadly precision.

The game promises a deep and satisfying combat system, allowing players to unleash Joe Musashi’s full ninja arsenal.
