The Shocktober Sale for 2017 is here – but which of the Xbox bargains are the greatest?

-

If you thought the weekly Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains were already an exciting enough prospect then you’re in for treat as the festive Shocktober Halloween deals are here to get us even more excited. With a whole host of discounts available on numerous Xbox One and Xbox 360, there are a lot to choose from… which is where we come in. Here are our picks on the best, and worst, deals to look out for amongst the many Shocktober 2017 bargains available.

As always with any of these discount articles, we have to advise that you pay CDKeys a little visit prior to downloading the bargains listed below. Their cheap Xbox Live credit will see your money going even further and you’d be crazy to not spend a minute or two purchasing that first.

GrabOutlast – 75% off – £4.00

If you’ve been a fan of horror, then there’s every chance you’re aware of the freakish delights on offer in Mount Massive Asylum, especially given the quick rise to fame that was bestowed upon Outlast on release.

If you’ve yet to dive in to the first-person thrill fest yet, then there’s no better time to do so.

With Halloween just around the corner and a price tag worthy of pocket change, there’s no reason not to jump into the horror experience that kickstarted first-person horror on Xbox One. Just make sure to stock up on those camera batteries as the trusty camera light is the only thing showing you were the horrors lay.

GrabThe Park – 60% off – £4.00

If you like your games to be action packed then this isn’t likely to be the game for you, however if you’re interested in a story of twisted and darkened reality, then The Park may be just what you’re looking for.

Playing the role of a mother, players must search the ever-changing amusement park in a bid to find her son. The Park isn’t the most frightening horror title on the market, but if you want a story that will provide just enough jump moments and an enlightening story, this may well be a bargain worth grabbing.

At four pounds, there isn’t much to complain about.

GrabDigerati Horror Bundle – 80% off – £8.00

What’s better than receiving one game at a great price? Receiving four of course!

That’s right another fantastic Shocktober deal sees four indie spectacles on show with Uncanny Valley, #KILLALLZOMBIES, Slain: Back from Hell and Paranautical Activity all included.

With plenty of unique adventures, the Digerati Horror Bundle brings a great mix of story, old school arcade, twin-stick shooting, and fast paced arena play from the titles included. Whether you’re looking for a frightening adventure or just in the market for some great bargains to add to your collection, this is one deal you should probably not go without.

GrabResident Evil Deluxe Origin Bundle – 67% off – £10.56

Resident Evil is by far one of the longest running horror series’ in gaming and has often been referred to as the home of horror gaming since the release of the sensational original back in 1996.

Whilst we could have easily included any of the fantastic Resident Evil deals on offer in the Shocktober sales, there’s no better way to enjoy the real thrill of horror than to journey back to where the story began.

This classic bundle brings together two of the finest titles in the series with Resident Evil 0 HD and Resident Evil HD, and with incredible updated visuals and unique gameplay, this may be the perfect way to experience some of the best horror titles on the market, all for just over ten pounds.

So what are you waiting for, get on down to the outskirts of Racoon City.

LeaveDead Alliance – 75% off – £7.50

Sometimes a game release can leave us with more questions than answers. Dead Alliance was one such game – leaving us with not a positive ‘we’d love to know more’ way, but rather a ‘what on earth is this’ kind of way.

Dead Alliance is a first-person shooter that pits two teams against one another throughout various game modes, whilst unleashing hordes of the undead on the fighting populace.

Whilst the initial concept is interesting, the execution was poor, leaving many to question the unfinished result. Whilst I for one am always excited by the prospect of a zombie adventure, Dead Alliance is one we could have all done without, and even at a knockdown price is one you should certainly avoid adding to your gaming library.

LeaveBloody Zombies – 25% – £8.09

Bloody Zombies may be one of the most recent releases on the Microsoft Store, but it’s not hard to see why it’s already sitting at a discounted price.

Whilst it makes a change to see a new side-scrolling brawler arrive on consoles, Bloody Zombies is certainly not a great one. With sluggish controls, horrible combat, and an awkward play area, there is much to be improved on this zombie basher.

If a zombie adventure is what you’re after we suggest trying one of the many other capable titles to have released on Xbox One, or at least save your cash for something a little more satisfying.

So, there we have it, our top picks from the incredible deals on offer in the Xbox Shocktober sales. Do you agree with our choices? Why not let us know your thoughts in the comments below or via our usual social channels.

Don’t forget to check out our full list of all the deals that can be found on Xbox One and Xbox 360 – via both the usual Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale, and this Halloween themed Shocktober sale.
