Shogun Showdown – now on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC

Sold as ‘an innovative turn-based combat game with rogue-like and deck-building elements set in a pixel-art Japanese-inspired universe‘, we’re not sure there should be anything stopping you from grabbing a download of Shogun Showdown as it launches to the world.

Available right now via the Roboatino (Italian solo dev) and Goblinz Publishing (French publisher) teams is Shogun Showdown. It’s present on the Xbox Store as we type, with play available across Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You should also be finding it on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam or GOG).

Swipe with Shogun Showdown

Having spent more than a year in Steam Early Access, Shogun Showdown is one that many have been looking forward to spending more time with. It brings together multiple ideas, combining them as one, all as the player looks to prove themselves in a roguelike Japanese world.

In Shogun Showdown you’ll get to head to the Far East, as you build yourself up, preparing to take on the Shogun. You’ll do this through a series of mechanics, making the most of deckbuilding elements, roguelike play and turn-based combat.

With new skills thrown your way to help aid your progress, this is a game in which every action will count – with timings all-important.

Key features

  • Turn-based combat where every action counts. Carefully position yourself, build up and unleash your attacks at the right time!
  • Upgrade your attack tiles and combo them!
  • Gain new skills and build the best deck you can before facing the Shogun.
  • Rogue-like: death is not the end, but the beginning of your journey towards mastery. As you play, you will unlock new characters, attacks, skills and more!

Should you have checked out Shogun Showdown in Early Access previously, then it may well be worth your while taking a look at the new content pieces that have been added with this V1.0 release on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC…

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
