Shoot zombies like a boss in Zombo Buster Advance

We’ll be honest – if you had asked us which franchise from the last six months we’d want to see continuing, the Zombo Buster series wouldn’t have been it. But here we are, preparing to shoot zombies like an utter boss with the release of Zombo Buster Advance.

Following on from 2021’s grind ’em up, Zombo Buster Rising, Advance seems to take a similar formula – similar as in you’re tied to the left of the screen, tasked with taking down anything that comes your way. This time around though, not only are you working with a few Zombo Busters, but a whole army of them, as you deploy troops, change em up when required and – ultimately – look to take down any zombie that may slowly trudge your way.

As a premise, it’s nothing new – tower-defense ideas, troop deployment and a ton of challenging stages have all been seen and done before. But much like how Zombo Buster Rising never outstayed its welcome, Zombo Buster Advance feels the same. In fact, a quick glance at the trailer or screens and interest levels immediately rise.

For a £4.19 purchase from the Xbox Store, you’re not going to find a Game of the Year contender in here, but we’ve high hopes for how Zombo Buster Advance will play; the series of tactics, gadgets and strategic switch-ups does that. It’s probably helped that we’re wondering how on earth the FIREBEAST and ChiliDog Interactive teams have managed to fit more than thirty zombie types into such a small package. We’ll find out in our review.

If you’re equally intrigued, go and grab a download of Zombo Buster Advance from the Xbox Store. We’re pretty sure the low price point is enough to tempt you in.
