Sifu strikes onto Xbox and Steam

-

sifu xbox launch

Having first released on PlayStation and PC before making moves to Nintendo Switch, Sifu finally rocks up onto Xbox consoles and Steam. We’re pretty sure this is one you’ll want to play.

Available today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, fully optimised for new-gen consoles and running both Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere opportunities, ensuring that you’ll be found playing the finest version possibly for your console, as well as being able to take it back and forth across PC, is Sifu from Sloclap and Keplar Interactive.

Priced at £33.49, Sifu drops onto Xbox with possibly the finest version yet, chock full of content with the standard base game complemented with the Arenas expansion, a new game mode, dynamic locations and more challenges than ever before.

A game that will put your Kung Fu skills to the test, running a different angle to something like Kung Fu: Street Rage – Ultimate Edition, Sifu promises the most spectacular combat, some of the most brutal opponents you could imagine, and plenty of chance to hone your skills.

It has you playing as a character on the path of revenege, as you head out to search for and hunt down the assassins of your family. With dodge, parry, strike and combo moves at your disposal, in Sifu you’ll become one with the way of Kung Fu, working through various environments as the story progresses. It’ll only be through practice where success will be found.

The key features of Sifu as it arrives on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S include:

  • Is one life enough to have Kung Fu? – Whether you choose to play as a male or a female character, in Sifu, you will ponder that question on your path for revenge, hunting down your family’s assassins. One against all, you have no allies, countless enemies, and a mysterious amulet to bring you back to life every time you die. Yet, be warned! Your secret weapon comes with a hefty price to pay: aging and its consequences.
  • Learning by fire – Your enemies don’t wait their turn, and they don’t broadcast their intent. Dodge, parry, strike, use combos and be like water making its way through captivating environments. Learn how to master your art, whether by fighting through the underbelly of a nightclub, scrambling through a refined gallery to avoid getting surrounded, or vertically navigating a towering office building.
  • Adaptation is survival – Careful positioning and clever use of the environment to your advantage are key to your survival. Use everything at your disposal: throwable objects, makeshift weapons, windows, and ledges… The odds are stacked against you, and you will be offered no mercy.
  • Training never ends – Kung Fu is mastery through practice, a path for both the body and the mind. Learn from your errors, unlock unique skills, and find the strength to master the devastating techniques of Pak Mei Kung Fu.

We’re looking to finally get hands-on with this one after a year of jealousy, so keep an eye out for our review thoughts soon. For now, Sifu is found over at the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Sifu is also available on PC through Windows and Steam, as well as the Nintendo eShop for Switch and the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS5.

Game Description:

Sifu lands on Xbox with a huge content update. The Arenas free expansion adds an entirely new game mode, featuring 9 dynamic locations and 45 challenges that will put your Kung Fu to the test! Gear up for spectacular combats, brutal opponents, and endless opportunities to refine your moves.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
