WORD SEARCH BY JGABRIB – out now on Xbox and Play Anywhere

Sometimes all you need is a cup of tea, a comfortable chair and a puzzle that gently exercises the brain. That’s exactly where WORD SEARCH BY JGABRIB enters the conversation, launching today on Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Available with Xbox Play Anywhere support, this latest word puzzler aims to deliver a relaxing, accessible experience built around one of gaming’s most familiar formats – the humble word search.

At A Glance

  • Game: WORD SEARCH BY JGABRIB
  • Developer: JGABRIB LTDA
  • Publisher: JGABRIB LTDA
  • Price: ÂŁ4.99
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PC, Play Anywhere
  • Genre: Puzzle / Word Game

At first glance, WORD SEARCH BY JGABRIB does exactly what it promises. Players search grids packed with letters, hunting down hidden words and clearing puzzles at their own pace. You know, standard stuff.

But a wide range of customisation options allows players to tailor the challenge to suit their preferences. Whether you want to remove diagonal words, disable backwards entries, adjust board sizes or simplify puzzle layouts, there are plenty of ways to create an experience that feels comfortable and accessible.

Further, multiple colour themes help reduce eye strain, while adjustable difficulty settings allow players to decide exactly how challenging they want each puzzle to be. There are no timers pushing you forward and no pressure to perform. Instead, WORD SEARCH BY JGABRIB positions itself as a calming experience designed to encourage concentration and provide a gentle mental workout.

Bonus Challenges Add Variety

While word searches form the foundation, not every challenge follows the same format.

Alongside traditional puzzles, players will discover bonus levels that introduce alternative objectives, including number-finding challenges and sequence-based puzzles. These additional modes should help break up the formula and provide a little extra variety for those planning to spend plenty of time with the game.

The inclusion of a local two-player mode is another welcome touch, allowing friends or family members to tackle puzzles together from the same screen.

How Does It Compare To Other Xbox Word Games?

Word games have quietly carved out a healthy niche on Xbox in recent years, with varying degrees of success.

We weren’t particularly impressed by Word Quest Pirates, awarding it a 2/5 review score, but other recent word-focused releases have fared much better. Word Maze by POWGI earned a respectable 3.5/5 from us, while Sixty Words by POWGI went one step further with a strong 4/5 score thanks to its clever puzzle design and engaging wordplay.

WORD SEARCH BY JGABRIB arrives with a slightly different proposition. Rather than reinventing the genre, it seems content to focus on accessibility, comfort and straightforward puzzle-solving.

WORD SEARCH BY JGABRIB is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC with Play Anywhere support. Make your way to the Xbox Store.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
