Ready to go old-skool and take on a score-attack run ‘n’ gun? Skelly Selest is here and today it is found releasing on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4 (thanks to a launch a few days previously), Skelly Selest from Digerati and the development team at Caiysware is pushing out pulsating pixel-art high-score running as standard, as you slash, dash, run and gun your way to victory.

Skelly Selest sees you placed into the battle-hardened bone shoes of a Heavenly Keeper, in a relentless score-attack challenge against waves of Hellion forces. See, prophecy tells that one day hell shall runneth over and the dead will spill out onto the Earth – it seems like that day is now, as you’re tasked with battling back the horrors found within numerous procedurally generated gauntlets of hellspawn. Oh, and there will be bosses too. Obviously.

“Skelly Selest was only intended as a small game jam but the release reaction really blew me away,” says developer Anthony Case. “On Steam it quickly racked up 100 reviews with a 98% positive rating, so I spent time with the Skelly community adding a whole bunch of new stuff to expand it to it’s current deamonica form. It was a real communal effort and a lot of fun, hope you enjoy the spooks!”

Key features of Skelly Selest include:

  • Fight furious battles across several modes, including a roguelite dungeon crawler, endless arena, Boss Rush, challenging Penitence Trials, and even a strategic collectable card game
  • Visit the Bone Plains, Flesh Gardens, and other charming locations across a vibrant pixel-art hellscape Make acquaintances with monstrous enemies and bosses
  • Wield blessed items, weapons, and armor to survive
  • Rescue a variety of unlockable character classes and spiffy hats

Fancy getting involved? The usual digital stores will be found delivering skelly-filled gifts with the Xbox Store sorting out Xbox One owners for £8.39, whilst the Nintendo Switch players out there will need to visit the eShop.

We’ll have a full review winging its way to you before you know it, but in the meantime let us know if you’ll be going hands-on with Skelly Selest by dropping in to the comments section below.
