Skip those checkpoints in Super Impossible Road on Xbox and PlayStation

Remember travelling down the Impossible Road? You get to do it all over again as Super Impossible Road launches on Xbox and PlayStation.

Available today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5, alongside a Nintendo Switch drop which happened a good few months back, Super Impossible Road is the spiritual sequel to the acclaimed Impossible Road from years gone by.

Created by Gunstone Studios and Wonderful Lasers, picked up for publishing rights by those at Rogue Games, Super Impossible Road is a super-fast, highly futuristic racer in which the only way – and we mean, the only way – you’ll get to win is to take risks. Skipping checkpoints will be par for the course here, as will leaving the standard racing line in search of a little shortcut or two. The dirtier you race, the better your chances of crossing that finish line first, so don’t feel bad about pushing your competition off the rails from time to time.

Hyperdrives, speed boosts and rollercoaster-y tracks all await you in Super Impossible Road on Xbox and PlayStation and as the devs put it themselves, this is the ‘fastest, craziest, most spectacular racer you’ve ever played’. Or at least it will be should you head to the Xbox Store (fully optimised for Series X|S), PlayStation Store or Nintendo eShop and pick up a download.

We’ll let you know if it really is the fastest and craziest racer when we deliver a full review of Super Impossible Road on Xbox Series X|S.

Game Description:

In the future, you’ve got to play a little dirty if you want to win races. Master hairpin turns across dangerous courses that twist and coil over beautiful galactic backdrops, knocking opponents into the void of space. Kick into hyperdrive with temporary speed boosts and use every opportunity to jump off the paths of the rollercoaster-like tracks. Bypass gates and checkpoints and roll over competitors on the way to first place! The spiritual sequel to the award-winning Impossible Road is back and more ferocious than ever with all-new modes, 120 FPS local multiplayer, insane online play, and much more! So what’re you waiting for? Crack those knuckles and jump into the fastest, craziest, most spectacular racer you’ve ever played.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
