There aren’t many games that combine flight with rogue-lite, but after the success of Everspace and the hype surrounding the build-up to the sequel, we see a new indie title arrive in order to make the most of the excitement surrounding the genre. That game? Sky Rogue on Xbox One.
Available to purchase and download this very minute from the Xbox Store, Sky Rogue on Xbox One sells itself as being a rogue-lite action flight sim – one in which you get the opportunity to blow things up. And to be honest, there are times that is all we ever want.
Priced up at £16.74, Sky Rogue on Xbox One delivers an experience which comes complete with a number of options, and whether you decide to dish out destruction over the land, across the sea or up in the air matters little. With procedurally generated worlds to enjoy, a ton of weaponry types made available, and the chance to duke it out with many enemies, this is certainly a game that looks to put your flying skills to the test.
The problem is, should things go wrong and you get taken down, that’s it. Dead. Kaput. Before Sky Rogue thrusts you back into the action all over again. And perhaps it is here where the 2-player splitscreen opportunities will come into play; 2 sets of weaponry is quite obviously going to be better than one.
Features include:
- 2 player splitscreen local co-op
- Infinite procedurally-generated missions
- Rogue-lite gameplay paired with permanent unlocks
- 12+ pilotable aircraft, 30+ weapons, customizable loadouts
- Secret technologies unlockable after completing the game once
Fancy giving Sky Rogue a shot? We reckon it should pass the time prior to seeing us going intergalactic with Everspace 2 further down the line. If you agree and wish to give it a shot, the Xbox Store will sort you out. Just be sure to hit up the comments below and let us know if you’ll be purchasing.
