Slasher Origins – coming in 2025

Wales Interactive, those behind acclaimed titles like Sker Ritual and Maid of Sker, is slicing into a new genre with Slasher: Origins.

Developed by the two-person team at Little Army Studio and helped along by Wales Interactive, Slasher: Origins is a 2.5D auto-attack roguelite that promises to deliver a unique blend of fast-paced combat, stylish visuals, and challenging gameplay.

Descend into the Depths of Chaos

And the best part? You can dive into the underworld action right now with a free demo available during Steam Next Fest (October 14th-21st). If you’re not Steam sorted, you’ll need to hold tight for a release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Switch and PC in early 2025.

Slasher: Origins thrusts players into the chaotic underworld ruled by Mephistopheles. Navigate procedurally generated levels, battle hordes of enemies, and conquer challenging bosses as you strive to survive the escalating darkness.

A Fusion of Noir, Anime and Heroes

The game’s striking noir-anime art style sets it apart from the crowd, blending the gritty atmosphere of film noir with the vibrant energy of anime aesthetics. This unique visual style creates a captivating and immersive experience as you battle your way through the underworld.

Choose from a roster of 10 unique heroes, each with their own distinct backstories, abilities, and unlockable skins. Develop your heroes’ skills, acquire powerful weapons, and unlock permanent upgrades to enhance your chances of survival.

Key Features to Sink Your Teeth Into:

  • Unique Art Style: Experience a captivating blend of noir and anime aesthetics.
  • Hero Diversity: Choose from 10 heroes with evolving abilities and unlockable skins.
  • Deep Progression: Unlock powerful skills, weapons, and permanent upgrades.
  • Challenging Levels: Conquer eight dangerous levels and face formidable bosses.
  • Endless Replayability: Enjoy procedurally generated levels and evolving hero builds for a unique experience every time.
  • Cinematic Finishing Moves: Unleash stylish and devastating “Animated Ultras” to finish off your foes.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
