Smells Like a Mushroom
Smells Like a Mushroom – out now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

A cosmic clash of epic proportions is about to play out in Smells Like a Mushroom on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

Red Limb Studio, in collaboration with Fatal Error and Destructive Creations, is launching Smells Like a Mushroom, a quirky and action-packed platformer that’s out now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

This vibrant adventure blends classic platforming with intense shooting, a dash of looter-shooter elements, and a whole lot of vegetable-based gaming.

A Fungus Among Us

In a galaxy where humans are extinct and vegetables rule the Earth, a new threat emerges: parasitic mushrooms from outer space.

These fungal fiends, led by the nefarious Satanus Boletus, have infested the Milky Way, and it’s up to a brave carrot named Carrotado and his veggie companions to save the day.

Join the Aveggers

Embark on an interplanetary journey aboard the space cruiser Soil-Trek, traveling to different planets in our solar system to gather long-lost human technology.

Team up with General Despotato, scientists Nicola Siesta and Garlic Ailstein, and face off against hordes of mushroom minions and challenging bosses. But be warned, not all allies are trustworthy, and you’ll need to keep a watchful eye on your “favourite” mother-in-lawn and the ever-spiritual Holy Broccoli.

Features That Will Make You Say “Lettuce Play!”

  • Single-Player Adventure: Experience a colourful and humorous campaign filled with quirky characters and a bizarre plot.
  • Interplanetary Exploration: Journey through diverse planets across the solar system, each with its own unique environments and challenges.
  • Action-Packed Combat: Engage in dynamic battles using a variety of upgradable weapons and melee attacks.
  • Split-Screen Co-op: Team up with a friend in local co-op mode and conquer the mushroom menace together.
  • Third-Person Perspective: Explore the vibrant world and engage in combat from a classic third-person perspective.
  • Story-Driven Cutscenes: Unravel the story through engaging cutscenes that add depth and humour to the narrative.

A Veggie-licious Blend of Genres

Smells Like a Mushroom offers a unique blend of platforming, shooting, and RPG elements, creating a dynamic and entertaining experience.

Explore diverse environments, from lush forests to barren deserts and volcanic landscapes, as you gather resources, upgrade your weapons, and battle your way through hordes of enemies.

A Humorous and Heartfelt Adventure

While the game’s premise is undeniably quirky, Smells Like a Mushroom also delivers a heartfelt story about friendship, courage, and the importance of fighting for what’s right.

Smells Like a Mushroom is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC for £20.99. A retail boxed version for PS5 is also available via Meridiem Games.

But will you be joining the Aveggers? Let us know if you decide to take in this action-packed adventure to save the solar system from those pesky parasitic mushrooms.

Smells Like a Mushroom Description

Parasitic mushrooms invaded from space, spreading all over the Milky Way. Since humans are long extinct and rule vegetables the Earth, it shouldn’t really be YOUR problem anymore. Except that you’ve got to suspend your disbelief, because somehow you’re the one who has to stop the invasion. Surprise!
