Snack and Quack Duckling Steps – waddling onto Xbox and PC

There’s no shortage of puzzle games on the Xbox Store these days, but Snack and Quack: Duckling Steps may well be one of the cutest of the lot.

Launching today across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC, the latest from the ever-busy Afil Games once again delivers a low-cost puzzling fix – this time with ducklings, bread and plenty of relaxing Sokoban-style gameplay.

And yes, after the original Snack and Quack launched back in 2025, the ducks are back for another little adventure.

Afil Games Are Back At It Again

Shock horror. Barely a week goes by without another Afil Games release landing on Xbox. Whether it’s sheep, zoo animals, magical creatures or now a family of hungry ducks, the studio has very much carved out its own cosy little niche on the storefront.

Snack and Quack: Duckling Steps sticks closely to that formula too, focusing on bite-sized puzzle solving wrapped up in colourful visuals and cheerful vibes.

The setup is simple enough. You’ll help a mother duck guide her ducklings through water-inspired stages, carefully pushing and positioning them towards scattered pieces of bread. Naturally, things become trickier the further you progress, requiring more planning and smarter movement to clear each stage cleanly.

Thirty Levels Of Feathered Puzzle Solving

There are 30 levels included, each built around classic Sokoban-style ideas where every move matters.

That means pushing ducklings into position, avoiding getting stuck and slowly figuring out the cleanest route through each compact puzzle space. It’s the sort of game that aims to relax rather than frustrate, offering a calm little brain workout instead of controller-snapping difficulty spikes.

If you’ve played previous Afil Games releases, you’ll probably already know exactly what kind of experience this is going for – simple concepts, accessible gameplay and an easy-going atmosphere that works well for short sessions. Don’t expect to be dreaming of this one weeks and months down the line…

Another Cozy Little Xbox Addition

While Snack and Quack: Duckling Steps probably isn’t trying to reinvent puzzle gaming, there’s definitely room for these smaller, lighter experiences on Xbox.

And for just ÂŁ4.19 per version (Xbox Series X|S Optimised, Xbox One, Windows PC), this latest duck-themed puzzler may prove hard for cosy game fans to resist.

Snack and Quack: Duckling Steps is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC through the Xbox Store.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
