snake io
snake io – now on Xbox

The famously addictive online sensation has returned, rebuilt and fine-tuned for high-precision console play.

Snake.io, the game of high-speed survival and competitive slithering, has launched on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC for ÂŁ7.49, and comes with full Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Prepare to develop your skills, attack wisely, and defend skillfully as you try to survive as long as you can to become the biggest snake on the board.

A Legacy of Slithering

Snake games are those which we know well, but often struggle to translate to the Xbox console.

Our experience has been mixed. We loved the unique, physical platforming challenges of Snake Pass back in 2017, but other titles have struggled.

For instance, our 3.5/5 review of Super Snake Block DX found that while it was “a game that brings a hugely addictive hit for a single evening, then Let Them Come is well worth checking out,” its overall experience “had a grip that is hard to shake.

Snake.io aims to take the genre’s core, addictive loop and refine it for a perfect console experience.

Attack Fast, Defend Skilfully

Snake.io takes the classic survival formula and sharpens it with precision controls and high-risk tactics.

You start as a small snake, and your goal is to get bigger by eating other snakes who try to do the same. The controls are key: you can attack fast with the mass-eject booster to cut in front of other snakes quickly, forcing them to explode when they hit you head-on.

No matter how small you are or how big they are, the best one wins through skill, not size alone.

This release brings a crucial feature for console players: local multiplayer with up to 4 players on the same device. This allows you to compete directly against your friends and family for the highest score, turning the slithering survival into a chaotic couch competition.

Your Journey, Anywhere

Snake.io is a full Xbox Play Anywhere title. This fantastic feature means your competitive slithering can continue, no matter which device you’re on.

A single digital purchase on the Xbox Store for ÂŁ7.49 unlocks the game for you on both your Xbox console, your Windows PC, or anywhere else for that matter. All of your high scores and progress are synced via the cloud.

Your Snake Strategy

Here is a bulleted summary of what to expect from this addictive new survival game:

  • Classic Survival Loop: Develop your skills to become the biggest snake on the board.
  • Local Multiplayer: Compete with up to 4 players on the same device for the highest score.
  • High-Precision Combat: Use the mass-eject booster to cut off and defeat opponents.
  • Global Leaderboards: Compete against players worldwide.
  • Full Controller Support: Including controller, keyboard, mouse, and touchscreen.
  • Full Xbox Play Anywhere Support.

Are you a snake or a worm? The original Snake.io is back with a competitive console edge. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, high-precision, and addictive game for a low price, Snake.io is ready for your slithering tactics on the Xbox Store right now.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
