We love Sniper Elite – in fact, we love pretty much everything that Rebellion put their hand to – and so the arrival of a free Sniper Elite 4 upgrade is one that is much appreciated, especially when that upgrade drops in some gorgeous next-gen Xbox Series X|S and PS5 additions.
Having first released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC back in 2017, Rebellion have now dropped a new update to Sniper Elite 4 and this adds in the usual next-gen options that you would expect; namely full 4K visuals, faster loading time and 60FPS support for those playing on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
This means that sniping has probably never looked so good, as the update delivers gorgeous visuals up to 4K on PS5 and Xbox Series X, super smooth 60 frames per second gameplay and greatly improved load times, making this the definitive Sniper Elite 4 experience. In the real world this should ensure that the increased frame rates bring about super smooth gameplay enabling you to pull off even better shots, before letting you then view the results in the series defining kill cam in glorious detail, up to 4K, with enhanced contrast sharpening.
Available now on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Switch and Stadia, Sniper Elite 4 is set in the aftermath of its award-winning predecessor. It continues the series’ World War Two heritage by transporting players across the beautiful Italian peninsula, from sun-drenched Mediterranean coastal towns, to colossal Nazi megastructures, ancient forests and hidden mountain monasteries. Covert agent and elite marksman Karl Fairburne must fight alongside the brave men and women of the Italian Resistance to help free their country from the yoke of Fascism, and defeat a terrifying new threat with the potential to halt the Allied fightback in Europe before it’s even begun.
With Rebellion behind it – they also behind the equally superb Zombie Army 4: Dead War and Strange Brigade – if you’ve not yet played Sniper Elite 4, now is the time to change that.
Pick up a copy from the Xbox Store, the PlayStation Store or on PC. It’s available on Xbox Game Pass too.
