For six years, SnowRunner has made a habit of dropping players into places where roads are more of a suggestion than a guarantee. Mud, snow, flooded rivers and broken bridges have all stood between drivers and their destination. Now, though, Saber Interactive is taking the long-running off-road sim somewhere altogether different.
SnowRunner Season 18: Patch & Power is available now, sending players to the tropical Mexican state of Chiapas for the game’s first proper jungle region. It is a new kind of challenge for veteran drivers, swapping icy wilderness for dense forests, mangroves and sandy coastlines – although the job remains very much the same: get the right truck, pick the right route and somehow keep moving.
Season 18 is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version set to follow on July 7th.

Welcome To SnowRunner’s First Jungle Region
Season 18 takes SnowRunner to Chiapas, a region in southern Mexico that has been hit hard by tropical storms. The National Energy Commission is attempting to complete construction of a geothermal power plant, but the surrounding landscape has been left in a state of chaos.
That means drivers will be heading across two large maps packed with lush jungle, thick mangroves, sandy beaches and the kind of terrain that can turn a simple delivery into a long afternoon of winching, reversing and questioning every decision that led to this point.
It is a notable change of scenery for SnowRunner. The series has taken players across plenty of harsh environments over the years, but Patch & Power marks the first time the game has properly embraced jungle maps.
Two New Trucks For The Job
As ever, a new season would not feel complete without a couple of new vehicles to add to the garage.
Year 5 Pass owners get access to the Mercer R230, an off-road truck built around manoeuvrability, and the HIB Billet M816, a highway-focused vehicle that brings a useful combination of speed and fuel economy.
The two trucks should offer different approaches to the new region, whether players are threading through tight jungle routes or tackling longer hauls across Chiapas’ more open stretches.
Switch 2 Players Join The Journey In July
While Season 18 is already live on most platforms, Nintendo Switch 2 players will need to wait a little longer before they can tackle the Mexican jungle. Patch & Power arrives on Switch 2 on July 7th, alongside the return of full crossplay functionality with the other available versions of SnowRunner.
That will allow players to team up with up to three friends across platforms, which may prove useful when the mud gets deeper than expected and a rescue mission becomes unavoidable.
Another Fresh Route For SnowRunner
SnowRunner has always understood that its appeal is not really about speed. It is about planning, patience and the quiet satisfaction of finally getting a heavily loaded truck through terrain that looked impossible twenty minutes earlier.
When we reviewed the base game, we called SnowRunner “a hugely immersive game” with an impressive amount of vehicle variety, missions and customisation. Season 18 looks set to build on that formula by taking it into a biome the game has not explored before.
The snow may be missing this time around, but the obstacles are still very much there.
