Jon Hare’s Sensible Soccer (AKA Sensi) will be immediately recognisable to all who played sports games in the 1990s. This fast-paced football title was all the rage on the Amigas and Ataris of the time, so many will be glad to know that Jon is still developing games of the same ilk.
Nowadays, Sensible Soccer is Sociable Soccer, with Sociable Soccer 25 the latest.
The Name Game
Sociable Soccer 25 has now launched on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, to complement its presence on PC also. We’ve been waiting for this one for ages, having first covered it way back in 2015.
Despite perhaps not having the draw of a EA FC or eFootball (formerly known as PES), Sociable Soccer 25 does have access to properly-named players via the FIFPRO license, so you won’t need to worry about playing with Horald Cane or June Ballinghem.
It’s a real-world roster of footballers across multiple leagues around the world, and Sociable Soccer 25’s equivalent of Ultimate Team (you know, the immense cash cow for EA Sports) allows you to create the best team possible.
And then, of course, you’ll transport this team to the pitch, and engage in some very fast-paced, arcadey football.
Sociable Soccer 25 very much exists on the dynamic side of things, as opposed to highly realistic, but sometimes all you want to do is go on a mazy run with Kylian Mbappe (not Killien Mbaby, thankfully) and rifle one into the top-corner from 40 yards out. Whether you are doing so solo or against a local co-op opponent, that’ll never get old!
The Whistle Blows
Football fans across the world should certainly take a look at Sociable Soccer 25, now available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
We will bring you a full review of the game on Xbox in due course, but for now the Xbox Store provides more info, and the ability to purchase the game for ÂŁ19.99.
