Space Elite Force 2 in 1 brings a double dose of shooting fun to Xbox

Is there anything to love more than a side-scrolling shooter? How about two? Well, that’s exactly what you’re getting with the release of Space Elite Force 2 in 1 on Xbox.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Space Elite Force 2 in 1 is a retro combo that brings together two side-scrolling shooters and tasks you with blasting the hell out of anything that moves.

It’s priced at £6.69, which is a bit of a step up from the publishing team’s – QUByte Interactive – previous titles, but this is still super cheap to purchase and should ensure a fun time all-round.

So what are you getting? Well, you’re getting Space Elite Force I – a side-scroller that comes with a whole range of levels, weaponry, enemies and ship upgrades. There are multiple game modes too, like Normal Mode, Arcade Mode and, wait for it, Boss Rush Mode; all of these should bring something for any SHMUP fan.

Alongside that game is the cleverly titled Space Elite Force II. Pretty much doing the same as the first game, this adds in a local cooperative mode for good measure, delivering further shooting madness in the process.

What’s not to like about Space Elite Force 2 in 1 on Xbox? Well, we’re not sure really but we’ll deliver our full thoughts through the review process just as soon as we can.

If you wish to give this a shot though, you’ll find it running over on the Xbox Store for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. There’s no next-gen optimisation though.

Game Description:

In Space Elite Force I you can play a wide variety of stages, guns, enemies and a lot of improvements to your ship. Have fun in insane battles, facing epic bosses and unlocking a wide variety of achievements in one of three game modes; Normal Mode, Arcade Mode and Boss Rush mode. In Space Elite Force II you can play alone or with a friend in local cooperative mode and do all the content from the previous one and a lot more in this intense, depth, and beautiful handcrafted pixel classic side-shooting game.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
