Long-time readers may remember Space Tail: Every Journey Leads Home – Ultimate Edition, which launched on Xbox back in 2023 before eventually being removed from the Xbox Store.
Now, the adventure has returned in the form of Space Tail: Definitive Edition, giving both newcomers and returning players another opportunity to experience Bea’s story. Alongside the relaunch, publisher Bohemia Interactive has also released a fresh trailer showcasing the game’s charming world and emotional narrative.
A Story Inspired By Space Exploration History
While Space Tail ventures into science fiction, its foundations come from real history.
During the early years of space exploration, animals were sent into orbit long before humans made the journey themselves. Many never returned. Space Tail pays tribute to those pioneers through the story of Bea, a cheerful dog who survives her mission and embarks on an unforgettable adventure among the stars.
And whilst Bea may be travelling across alien planets, she’s still very much a dog. Her natural instincts become an important part of gameplay, with players using scent, hearing and observation to investigate their surroundings. These abilities combine into a detective-style exploration system that encourages players to pay attention to the environment rather than simply rushing from one objective to the next.
