Spacejacked brings galactic tower defense to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch

Ratalaika Games have made a name for themselves over the years by porting over cheap and cheerful little indie titles to console. That is what we are seeing again here, with them taking the base game of Spacejacked and transporting it to a new galaxy; a galaxy populated by Xbox One and Nintendo Switch players.

First created by Rotten Mage, Ratalaika have now pushed out Spacejacked to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, allowing console players the opportunity to take to the shoes of one Dave Paprovsky – a hardcore space technician who has a flair for shooting. And the cost for doing so? Just £7.99.

Dave’s task – and your own for that matter – is to keep your delicate little spaceship safe from all invaders, working with fast paced tower defence tactics to ensure that your next hyperspace jump is a successful one. By combining two different genres – that of tower defense and action shooting – Spacejacked will happily deliver a quirky little story, a couple of game modes, and the opportunity to shoot, shoot, and shoot some more. And let’s be honest, that’s all we want in life.

Features include:

  • Shoot and build turrets!
  • Defend both the ground and ceiling! No spot is safe from aliens!
  • Story Mode filled with quirky characters over the course of 2 major story acts.
  • Challenge Mode with demanding set-pieces only fit for the most hardcore.
  • Two Endless Modes for even crazier action and compete for high-score with your friends.

If you’re looking for a galactic tower defence adventure, then look no further than Spacejacked. Our full review of the Xbox One version of the game will be live in the days ahead, but if you’re sold by the cheap asking price, or the overall premise, just head to the Xbox Store or Nintendo eShop and pick up a download.

Game Description:

Spacejacked is a super fast-paced ARCADE TOWER-DEFENSE. Play as Dave, a lone technician tasked with protecting his spaceship from being overrun by aliens while it prepares to warp into hyperspace. Players who seek to experience a blend of action shooter and tower defense will enjoy this game!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
