Star Wars Bounty Hunter – coming this August

You may have played the original Star Wars: Bounty Hunter from way back in 2002, but here and now, as 2024 powers on, so does a newly improved version of the game. And yep, it won’t be long before you’re playing Star Wars: Bounty Hunter on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC.

Set to land in a galaxy near you on August 1st 2024 will be Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. This sees the original game from 2002 brought up-to-date, kicking and screaming into a whole new world.

Plenty of improvements

It does so via the Aspyr team, as they, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, brings Star Wars: Bounty Hunter to new platforms. And as it lands, it’ll do so with visual enhancements, improvements to the environmental textures, new dynamic lighting and a flashlight tool, all for exploring the darkest of places.

Set to release for $19.99 (or your local currency), it’ll be playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).

Dive in to Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and you’ll get the chance to become the most feared Bounty Hunter in the galaxy! As Jango Fett, you’ll have to jump, jetpack, climb, and maneuver in this iconic action-adventure game featuring a variety of visual improvements on modern platforms, as well as Steam Deck support and a number of DualSense controller features for PlayStation 5 players.

And for the first time ever, if the campaign is completed, players can unlock a new Boba Fett skin for their next playthrough, paying off a notorious easter egg from the original game!

Key Features

  • Let the Hunt Begin: In this classic third-person action-adventure, you’ll play as Jango Fett, Prime Clone of the Grand Army of the Republic, hired to capture a deranged Dark Jedi.
  • Relive the Timeless Tale: Experience the legendary Bounty Hunter fantasy set before the events of Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones™. Face off against foes and maneuver through acrobatic battles in this adaption optimized for today’s consoles and hardware.
  • Armed to the Teeth: Fight your way through the galaxy’s underbelly, equipped with Dual Blasters, your Flamethrower, Whipcord, and pure Mandalorian Rage.

Set to release in August

Take a look at the trailer below. We’ll be sure to remind you when August 1st comes around.

Consider Aspyr were behind the recently released Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and hopes are high for this Star Wars reinvention.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
