Star Wars: Galactic Racer is gearing up to blast onto PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026, and it is shaping up to be one of the boldest takes on racing the Star Wars galaxy has seen in years.

This debut project from Fuse Games, led by former Criterion Games GM Matt Webster, is positioning itself as a high-stakes, runs-based racer where survival, aggression, and mastery matter far more than destiny.

If you have been waiting for Star Wars to dive back into pure adrenaline-fuelled speed, and Fate of the Old Republic isn’t your bag, this is the one to keep your eye on.

A Gritty New Spin On Star Wars Racing

Fuse Games is teaming up with Lucasfilm Games and publisher Secret Mode to introduce players to The Galactic League, an outlaw racing circuit thriving in the chaos of the Outer Rim. Here, rules are more like suggestions, danger is constant, and only the most daring pilots make it to the finish line.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer pushes players to survive explosive races across iconic and original planets. With branching paths, unpredictable hazards, and vehicles that each handle in unique ways, variety sits at the heart of every run.

While Galactic Racer leans heavily into arcade action, it also offers a narrative core that gives purpose to every victory and failure. Players step into the boots of Shade, a determined racer clawing their way toward greatness and revenge. Standing in the way is Kestar, a ruthless powerhouse with ambitions that stretch far beyond the track.

In the campaign, players will form alliances, challenge fierce opponents, and try to stay alive long enough to take their place among the galaxy’s elite racers. Meanwhile, competitive multiplayer raises the stakes even further, with tactical PvP matches turning every encounter into a grudge match.

Developer And Partner Insights

Fuse Games, Lucasfilm Games, and Secret Mode emphasised just how transformative this project aims to be.

“For us, Star Wars has always represented the power of wonder – and racing is one of its most thrilling expressions,” said Matt Webster, CEO at Fuse Games. “With Star Wars: Galactic Racer, we wanted to reinvent what a racing game can be: adventurous, spectacular and exhilarating. We want every race to feel alive with dynamic risk-reward choices, and every victory to feel incredible.”

“From the beginning, Star Wars has drawn inspiration from racing culture, from podracing to high-speed chases across the galaxy,” said Douglas Reilly, VP and GM, Lucasfilm Games. “With Star Wars: Galactic Racer, the team at Fuse Games has captured that spirit and elevated it into a wholly new form of racing adventure. We can’t wait for fans to experience it.”

“Star Wars: Galactic Racer is exactly the kind of bold, innovative experience Secret Mode was founded to support,” said James Schall, Chief Publishing Officer at Secret Mode. “Fuse Games are building something truly genre-defining: a racing adventure with depth, drama, and identity. We’re proud to partner with them and work in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games to bring this vision to life for players worldwide.”

Racing With Purpose In A Galaxy Without Limits

Star Wars is no stranger to speed, but Star Wars: Galactic Racer looks set to push that legacy into entirely new territory. Fast, chaotic, story-driven, and layered with tactical progression, it is shaping up to be one of 2026’s most exciting releases for Star Wars fans and racing veterans alike.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If the team delivers on its promise of deep systems and cinematic spectacle, this could become the next great racing adventure in a galaxy far, far away.
