The Vorlec – out now on Xbox and PC

The Vorlec wastes little time putting you in danger. This third-person action platformer drops players into a vibrant RetroWave world where tricky platforming, puzzles and hostile enemies stand between you and the end of the journey.

Available now for ÂŁ4.19, The Vorlec comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, with the Xbox Series X|S version optimised for current-generation consoles. Developed and published by Nor Dreams, it’s a fast-paced linear adventure where getting your movement right could be just as important as knowing when to attack.

Movement And Combat Go Hand In Hand

The Vorlec is built around mastering movement and combat as you make your way through a series of dangerous dimensions. Expect platforming sections to sit alongside enemy encounters, with powerful bosses waiting to provide a tougher test.

There’s also a puzzle-solving element to the journey, giving the adventure a little more variety than simply running from one fight to the next.

A Compact RetroWave Adventure

With its colourful visual style and straightforward linear structure, The Vorlec looks to keep things focused. There’s no huge open world to get lost in here – instead, the emphasis is on moving forward, overcoming whatever the next section throws at you and sharpening your skills along the way.

For ÂŁ4.19 from the Xbox Store, and available in three differing versions depending on your needs, The Vorlec provides a small-scale action platforming adventure across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
