It’s time for the chaos to continue in Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin as the new Trials of the Dragon King expansion arrives in town.

The first expansion for Square Enix’s Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, Trials of the Dragon King is rolling out to a PC or console near you, available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 or PC.

It’s been developed in collaboration with Team NINJA from KOEI TECMO GAMES, they behind the NINJA GAIDEN and Nioh series, as Trials of the Dragon King goes about telling an original story that takes place after the events of the main game, when Jack and his friends visit an island in the Cardian Archipelago to investigate the sudden appearance of Bahamut and to determine whether it is a friend or foe.

That means there will be a host of new content available in Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin and in The Trials of the Dragon King expansion you should expect to find…

  • New Missions – After clearing the main storyline, players can dive into new missions and experience an original story featuring the Dragon King Bahamut.
  • New Jobs and Weapon Type – A new weapon type, the staff, and three new jobs have been added with DLC: Pilgrim, Evoker and Summoner.
  • Accessories – Players can now equip accessories, which grant various special effects and status improvements.
  • BAHAMUT Difficulty Mode – After clearing the main storyline, players can access a new difficulty level called BAHAMUT.

If you like what you find and are eager to continue your adventures alongside Jack, Ash and Jed, then you can also look forward to the release of two additional chapters in the future entitled “Wanderer of the Rift” and “DIFFERENT FUTURE.” Both of these, as well as the Trials of the Dragon King will be available through the game’s Season Pass; something which is included in the Digital Deluxe Edition.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
