We love the whole Ratalaika Games USP – cheap, pretty cheerful, huge abundance of games filling up our digital libraries by the week; games like Dreaming Sarah. In fact, if we had our way we’d prefer it if every game emerged from the route of Ratalaika and their porting genius. But you know what we like even more? The fact that the most recent cheap releases from the team come with some good old Xbox Series X|S and PS5 optimisation. As is the case for Sumatra: Fate of Yandi.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, Sumatra: Fate of Yandi is Ratalaika’s latest port; a game that was first dreamt up by those at Cloak and Dagger Games.

Priced at a mere £5.99– you know, that’s seriously good for a Series X|S badged title – Sumatra works the traditional point and click adventure route, one that focuses on the life of Yandi. This humble logging works has found himself alone, lost in the jungle, and only by taking in your help will he ever find his closest friend, and then work their way home.

In Sumatra you will find yourself taking in all manner of areas, although admittedly most of those will be vast expanses of unexplored forest and utterly desolate wasteland. But hey, only by exploring these lands, uncovering the secrets within and fending off multiple dangers, will Yandi and his mate make it back safely.

Features include:

  • * Explore a rich and vibrant jungle full of mystery
  • * An intriguing storyline that evolves in unexpected ways
  • * Nostalgic point and click adventure style with many puzzles to solve
  • * Encounter humans and animals, friends and foes
  • * Original soundtrack featuring 30 tracks

If you’re after a bit of nostalgic gaming, love a bit of point and click action, or just wish to take in a rather intriguing story, then Samatra: Fate of Yandi should be one to enjoy.

Our full review of the game on Xbox Series X|S will be with you very soon, but in the meantime the usual digital stores like the Xbox Store will let you stock up on this digital adventure.

Game Description:

Lost and alone in the jungle after a terrible landslide, Yandi must find his way home to his beloved partner Adiratna. Many dangers and secrets will be revealed as he makes his way through vast expanses of unexplored forest and desolate wasteland. Join Yandi on his epic quest, will he even make it out alive?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
